Really pulling for Showtime in this one. Everyone with me on that? Seems like the net is a little tired of Bendo's humblebrags. Guess it gets that way with every champ.

Mir/Barnett is unpredictable. I have no clue how this one will go. In my estimation Mir is better on the feet and on the ground but Barnett is a tough out.

Vera's battle with Shogun was pretty great. I don't know why he's decided to move back up. The fight with Rothwell makes sense in that Rothwell is a good-but-not-great heavyweight that Vera could KO like he used to. Or it could be Vera/Sylvia 2. Not good.

At the presser Bendo hinted that he wants to fight Aldo next while Pettis said he'd fight challengers at both weight classes if he won. Dunno how that would work.

Also, Frank Mir claims to have been quietly feuding with Josh Barnett for over a decade, and he wouldn't just be saying that to build up heat for a little talked about fight.

Rarely will you see a PPV live up to expectations and surpass them like this one.

Re: UFC 164: Henderson vs. Pettis 2 [Live]

Not sure how Chico Camus managed to beat Kyung. One judge gave him all three rounds. I had it 29-28 Kyung and I think everyone else but the Milwaukee crowd felt that way, too.

Hyun Gyu Lim is a fucking beast at welterweight. Intriguing prospect.

    Tim Elliott was utterly dominant.

Gleison Tibau gassed but did enough to beat Jamie Varner. Sad that Varner isn't going by The Worm anymore or am I mistaken? Varner shaking his hand is second only to him calling time out on his play sheet for every fight.

Poirier/Koch lived up to expectations. Wonderful fight. Picked it wrong.

Ben Rothwell vs. Brandon Vera was horrible until Rothwell went into "no fucks given" mode and tore Vera up. Pretty exciting stuff from the big man!

Thought the Guida stoppage was a little quick but credit to Mendes for basically avoiding everything Guida was doing and succeeding with all of his techniques. Guida gets a hard ride from fans but he seems to be a decent guy at least. Don't love seeing him win or lose.

Barnett/Mir was the second quick stop of the night. New referee in the main event? Kind of shocking. Mir's history of being chinny played into it I suspect. I thought Mir would be the better striker. Dead wrong. Barnett swarmed him and never let him breathe. If everything comes out clean I reckon Barnett will make a nice jump up the heavyweight ladder with that one.

Main event was a little surprising. Bendo going for takedowns was to be expected but absorbing four straight body kicks? Getting his arm popped? Reminded me a little of when Ben fought Cerrone and just caught him off guard.

Great night of fights. Two new champions this summer, pretty cool.

Nikita "The Al Capone" Krylov supposedly submitted this photo to Sherdog for their fight finder before signing with the UFC. He's tough and has some skills but looked very raw and not in top condition tonight.

What does everyone make of Pettis calling out Jose Aldo? Shouldn't he be thinking about TJ Grant? Looks like Aldo needs to deal with Lamas and Mendes (again) first. Poirier is surging as well. Too many challengers at the moment in both classes.

Anthony Pettis might have a knee injury. Thankfully the hit he took isn't to the surgically repaired knee.

This card drew 9,000 people and coincided with a long weekend and a Harley Davidson event. The BMO holds 20,000, I think. Imagine if Pettis hadn't stepped-in for Grant?

Ben Henderson was in obvious discomfort at the presser and didn't put his arm through the sleeve of his shirt. Pettis claims he heard it pop. Hate to see two top fighters go out in one night, especially in such a short fight!
