It wasn't enough that the Yankees restructured A-Rods contract but he could also get an additional 30M (6M each) for reaching........................ Willie Mays 660 HRs Babe Ruth (714) Hank Aaron (755) Barry Bonds (762) And beating Barry Bonds with # (763) Mays he'll reach. And Maybe he'll even get to Ruth (67 away) But I think it ends there. Currently he has 647. Getting rewarded for being an asshole. what a joke.
Just think about that. He comes back and hits a lot of homers the last two months and passes Mays. He gets an extra $6 million and makes what $36 million for two months of work? What a joke.
...Hank. ...and Rick, if he hits 13 more HRs, it won't be for awhile...I don't think there's any way he hits 13 this year because I don't think he'll play in enough games...he only hit 18 last year in 122 games. And next year, who the hell knows what's gonna happen between his health, ability to play, and suspension?
I was agreeing with you when you said you'd bet money that he'll reach Mays. And I further agree that it won't be until next year.
...oh, I know where you were coming from...btw, I just checked, and ARod only hit ONE home run in his last 29 games last year. (counting PS)
59, I agree with you on the fact that Arod won't be passing anyone soon unless he is in a suit and a courtroom.
...yeah, and though I know it's not nice to wish ill-health on someone, the best case scenario for the Yanx would be for ARod's hip to fail.
The same could be said for so many athletes. The Yanks have themselves to blame for that contract. Part of it was an eye toward marketing and that's all but blown up in their face. I don't expect a lot out of Arod this year but if he could continue strengthening this season I could see him having a strong season next season.
