I am posting this here since he has been mentioned as wanting to play for us.

The Portland Trail Blazers and representatives of LaMarcus Aldridge met recently to discuss trade scenarios, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Blazers have had talks with Chicago about Joakim Noah, with Minnesota about Kevin Love, with Los Angeles about Blake Griffin, with Atlanta about Al Horford and with New Orleans regarding Anthony Davis.

Those teams have declined to involve their players in any potential deals for Aldridge, a source said.

Neil Olshey is reportedly in no rush to facilitate a deal for Aldridge, who has two years and roughly $30 million remaining on his contract.

Not interested in giving up: Rose, Mirotic, Bobcats pick, Butler or Noah.

You know what pissed me off? Just think about if we still had Asik and how we could really pounce on this and have a dynamite team.

Anyway, that is all. Tough to feel strongly either way about a Noah for Aldridge swap with Nazr and maybe Camby stepping in to be the C.

Actually, Noah is so important to what Thibbs wants to do that its really a non-starter, right?

    Although, I still don't trust Noah's health.

    Right you are, k4e.

Having Asik would have made all the difference.

But I wonder if even then the Bulls would trade him. They love Jo No.

A Noah for LMA swap would effectively give us a front court of LMA at C, Boozer, Deng.

I don't think LMA wants to play C full time.

I might actually do Noah straight up if LMA would play C. We'd have to ask him.

Then next year, we'd have LMA, Mirotic, Deng if we re-sign Deng.

    I think LMA plays C.

So you have a front court of Boozer, Deng, and LMA.

LMA is the same height as Noah and outweighs him by 20 lbs if not more.

The year after, you have a front court of Mirotic, Butler, and LMA with Matthews starting at SG.

If the trade was made now, it would weaken our front line. Losing both Taj and Noah...wow. Aldridge is not better than both of them together. I know I am not including Matthews, but I am referring to the front line, we would have to sign a decent big man if this happened. Many are off of the market. I like Thomas as an end of the bench type player, not as a major player.

That being said, having both Butler and MDJ could allow Deng to play some minutes at pf in relief of Boozer.

They could add Myers Leonard to the deal. He played 17 MPG at C last season for them. Guy out of UofIllinois, too. And only 21.

If they get Noah, they'd have Noah and Robin Lopez at C, so they might not have so much use for Leonard.

Given he plays 24 minutes at C, that gives us 12 minutes of LMA at PF.
