Would you rather have Lillard and McCollum or Drummond and Schroeder?

I'm genuinely torn. Obviously we love Lillard, but Drummond looks more valuable down the road. And I'm falling for McCollum, but he and Lillard don't really work together, no matter how much we want it, whereas I actually did want Schroeder, and was very impressed with him. Meanwhile, Drummond is STILL, I believe 19, and so is Schroeder, whereas our boys are several years older.

If you gave me at least through the end of this season then I could give you a better answer.

If I have to answer now though I pick Lillard and McCollum. Drummond has already been hurt once and the foreigners are always an unknown.

If you asked me again next August though then it might go the other way. It is that close.

Trading up with the Raptors who easily could've drafted Ross at #11.

    Drummond/Lillard

Drummond has the highest upside but he still needs to improve quite a bit to be a top big man. Lillard is already one of the better PG in the league so going with him is an easy choice.

I'd rather have Davis and Lillard. Davis and Drummond would be interesting though!

I don't see the hype of Drummond... He missed 22 games, only averaged 8/8, shot 37% from the line, and has no touch whatsoever.

People said the same thing about Oden (minus the free throw woes)

We could have had Drummond at draft day. I still believe it! That's the problem. There was a serious red flag about his desire to get better. It turned a lot of gm's off.

We would have been hitting a home run with those two picks!

It was going to be one or the other. Damian wouldn't have been available at 11

No we pick Lillard at 6 and trade up for Drummond. He was only two picks ahead of us.

What would the cost have been you think? 11+Wes for 8?

I still have my doubts about Drummond. He might have injury concerns and it's too soon to say if he's got a "motor". But he's putting up scary (advanced stat) numbers. And I also have doubts about Lillard. He was about 20th among PGs in PER.

Finally, the Schroeder/Drummond pairing is scary defensively. You can't say that about our guys.

The thing about Lillard has more to do with what's in between his head. He has "superstar" written all over it.

I'm not so sure about that. I feel like Detroit was jumping for joy when Drummond was available at #9. There was no way they were trading that pick. I sort of feel like we might have had a better chance at trading up if we took Drummond at 6 and then tried to trade for Lillard.

I know Detroit wanted him. I was talking about getting the 8th pick. Detroit was the only team that really really wanted him

You said you couldn't see the hype with Drummond. Which made me wonder if you felt hyped about Oden even after his injury plagued first couple of years? I know it took me until the exploding knee cap before I finally lost all faith, but before that, Oden as a prospect had great potential to be an amazingly impactful player and had he managed to stay healthy he might have lived up to his hype. Similarly, Drummond appears to have nearly the same physical gifts and an enormous amount of potential (provided he stays healthy and motivated).
