    I get that it's lame to bark at a police dog sitting in a car, but is it really an arrestable offense? This is really getting ridiculous.

    See, what causes the police state is overfunding of the legal system. If conservative legislators would cool it, police and lawyers would get less money, be forced to scale back, and we'd have more freedom.

    Also, there's that little thing about government debt.
