The stats don't tell the real story: Reggie Evans grabs Chris Kaman Balls Prompting the coach to say "Reggie, I said grab the ball, not the balls."
Houston Rockets All-Star guard James Harden, a former teammate of Robinson in Houston, warns the league not to sleep on the kid. “He's a beast, man. The league better get ready,” Harden told CSNNW.com. “He knows what his job is, he knows what he's great at and he does it to the best of his ability. T-Rob is a very hard worker, an excellent rebounder and he's definitely skilled for someone of his size. I have no doubt about it that he'll turn his career around in Portland.”
I think Robinson will be a huge positive surprise. I see him being much better than hickson because he actually defends well.
Way better than Hickson. TRob wants all the rebounds, offensive or defensive, and actually rotates to challenge shots. Hickson only wanted offensive rebounds so he could have a chance to score.
In the long-term yes. But this year, Robinson will look like a clod compared to what Hickson got us used to.
I think the real question is: Where is TRob on the LMA dropped pass scale? Will he expect passes or get hit in the side of the head like Meyers? Can he catch a pass on the pick-and-roll like Hickson or will he have the LeMarcus Quikrete hands? God this is going to be an exciting season!
Definitely a clod....
Hopefully his role will be to rebound and send out passes, not receive passes and have to instantly react.
Once we have Lillard and Aldridge getting so much attention; I think T Rob will have a field day. Yes I said it! I think T Rob and Aldridge will be playing significant minutes together.
I would like to see Robinson improve on his offensive boards. Most of his rebounds during SL came from the defensive end, which is great but I would also like to see some second chance points!
If Aldridge is traded before next season, I feel that T. Rob will be a significant starter. If Aldridge is traded; it won't be for a PF starter. If he is traded, it will be for a center and wing(s) (one starter quality wing or 2 role playing guards). Personally, if we get 2 role playing guards (maybe a PG and SG) and a possible Noah or Asik type player; T. Rob will do well. I think he's fully capable of getting us double doubles throughout the season. If we got an Asik or Noah; then they could improve our offensive rebounding as well.
I've gone through the league, and I simply don't see a star quality wing that we could trade for. In all actuality, there really aren't very many star quality wings in the league right now. We're point guard heavy and big man heavy. There are a few young guys with the potential to be stars, like Harrison or Oladipo, but not as many as you'd think. It would be difficult to pry one away with so few in the league. I would love to make that deal I suggested with Orlando, but I think there's a slim chance they go for it.
Good SGs are the hardest position in the league to find right now. SF isn't bad though. So you could move Batum to SG and get a SF. Blazers don't seem that keen on this idea however.
I probably would have said Iggy but that is out. Paul George would be the dream. Kawhi Leonard, Thaddeus Young, Chandler Parsons are guys I like.
That's why I think trading Matthews could give us the best return (other than Aldridge or Lillard of course). And personally, I think CJ will eventually be the SG of the future for the Blazers.
For SGs I do like Gerald Henderson (get-able) and Bradley Beal (probably not). I even like Dudley but that is probably off the table now.
We just got done saying that shooting guard is nearly impossible to find right now and you want to trade ours for.... what exactly? CJ is not a starting shooting guard. I think he'll end up being a Jamal Crawford/Jason Terry off the bench scorer type of player.
