I am gravely concerned. Remember back during the '10 playoffs when we were told how much Hughes liked to pitch and A-rod liked to hit in Arlington. Hughes had a bad game, A-rod made the final out. Yep these are the times that try mens souls.

It seems like forever since he was a rookie on the mound in Texas and throwing a no hitter before an injury (hammy ?). He looked totally different than he does today.

With the exception of Cano, is there a HR in that bunch?

    Only if Overbay tags one.

I remember that near no hitter well he had a hammer 12-6 curve locking batters all night. That curve ball was scrapped for that god awful cutter and has now morphed into a slider that sometimes works sometimes gets crushed. Not the same pitcher indeed and just another example of poor development by a player under the Yankees watch. Not to take fault away from Hughes though. He's still working on that change he never throws and why he decided to scrap his better secondary stuff for the crap he throws now and that cutter is beyond me.

I think that there is a tendency with the Yankee organization to over coach. I like the Nolan Ryan theory of throw the ball and screw pitch counts within reason. Help my memory, but when we were going bad in the early to mis 90's didn't we go through a ton of pitching coaches.

Mesa may not make it, but that man can motor. Now wasn't that better than watching Hafner K, or Wells K or ground out? Or Francisco K or well you're getting the point right? In the end between Wells and Suzuki and Hafner, wouldn't Almonte and Mesa done nearly the same. They had good spring training? He may not get another hit in MLB career but I rather die with rookies than with over the hill, soon to be dead long in the tooth veterans.

How many times with Hughes pitching do we get the lead and he coughs it back up the next inning?

Good to see some aggressive play leading to a run.

Does Mesa remind anyone of Gerald Williams?

I am so glad my guns are locked up. I can't take this, this team finds away to disappoint. He Yanks Hughes which AI am find with, like he should of yanked CC in Boston, but Logan stats are artificial. God get us some offense so every night isn't a struggle. I watch every team in the wild card hunt beat us to key acquisitions and the team that obviously needs it the most does nothing.

Since we scored the 3rd run, we are 0-11 with 5 K's.

Since the 4th we have 1-2-3 without smelling firstbase, It's obvious that we don't need any help...
