Arod wants as much of his remaining contract as he can get and the Yankees want to pay the least amount possible. I cannot imagine Arod and his people aren't talking to MLB and trying to cut a deal. I expect it's going to be 150 games with Arod's lawyers making sure they're no criminal or civil charges for interfering in baseball's investigation. Insurance would then cover Arod's salary this year up to the suspension and he would then forfeit 150 games worth or nearly a full years salary. The remainder of his contract will have to be bought out by the Yankees so that they're finally done with him and his nonsense once and for all. Maybe they work out a deal where they pay him over twenty years plus interest. However it gets done they need to cut ties with this player and this situation in the best interest of the team, the fans and MLB.
MLB may choose not to prosecute or bring legal action against Arod, however both he and Braun could face State and Federal charges. All that takes is a zealous young glory seeking prosecutor to file. If Arod was to accept a 150 game suspension from MLB he is then like Braun in admitting wrong doing, thus opening the possibility of prosecution from other than MLB.
I have seen reports though that say A-Rod is going to fight whatever is handed down... so it might be different situations between Braun and A-Rod as far as State/Federal charges...
With incentives he has a contract that could be worth over $30 million next season. I imagine most people would fight for that as well.
Agreed... that wasn't my point... my point was that Braun has an admission of guilt... A-Rod would be fighting it and therefore it wouldn't be an admission of guilt... that was my point... sorry if that got lost
At this point A-rod will get on the field friday and fake an injury so yanks are stuck paying for season up to this point to stick it to them. LMAO
The entire thing is a ridiculous circus getting dumber by the day. The problem is that you have two idiot sons and an incompetent general manager in charge of things. They make matters worse and turn this into an even bigger circus. They look moronic trying to stall Arod's return to the field if he's ready to go.
