I find that these two ego-maniacs find themselves with alot more in common these days. On the field, Rose was as good as you get, hard nose, gritty, played hard and earned every hit and accolades that came with on the field results

Arod, since a phenom with Seattle also enjoyed great success on the field. Different from Rose in that PEDS added to the legacy no doubt, but this is where I see the similarities merging.

Both have egos as big as the Grand Canyon. Both refuse to do what I feel would be in their best interest, Rose to apoligize and then be accepted into the Hall, and Arod to admit and stop the fraud for what most likely is over his remaining 100 million dollar contract. Lets face it, his endorsements will be few and far between now except for Erectile Dysfunction or adult pampers.

But like Giamatti with Rose, Selig is dying to use "In the best interest of baseball rule" and banish Arod once and for all. Forget PEDS, forget both schmucks, lets get back to hammy and homers.

As siqqboynyy pointed out, Rose has apologized... That being said... Rose should absolutely be in the hall of fame... his ban from baseball had to do with what he did as a manager, not as a player... he should be in as a player...

Regardless Rose's actions were not in the best interest of baseball which is why he is still not allowed in a major league stadium without MLB approval. However Arod should listen to Pete Rose, below Rose says this

"You can talk about hits and runs and championship games ... [But] I want my legacy to be [that of] somebody who came forward. If anybody has a problem here today, come forward. Don't hide it ... You can run, but you can't hide. If I can help a young kid to know what I went through, maybe I can prevent them from going through the same thing.

Arod can learn alot from Rose

Hammer I agree 100% about Rose. Granted I would never allow to have anything directly to do with a team. Mgr, coach etc. But for what he accomplished on the field as a player he DEFINITELY belongs in the HOF. And I hope the next commishioner lefts the band.
