Im curious to see what you guys think about Chris Webber? He still gives 20-10 every night, He also does it on 43% shooting so there is a pro and con for everything.Thoughts on him?
He is the biggest hinderance on this squad. Yeah, he's putting up 20 points and 10 rebounds a night, but like you said he's doing it on 43% shooting and sitting at the elbow shooting jumpers all night. On the other end of the floor he just doesn't try on defense. I understand he has limitations on his mobility and athletic ability, however that does not mean that he shouldn't go out there and give 100% effort. Not only that, but he takes away shots from other players on the team. If you watch the games, Iverson makes a considerable and conscience effort to set-up CWebb and get him the ball and get him his shots so that Webber doesn't pout and bi*ch. I remember after a blowout loss in Washington Webber just lashed out in the locker room and demanded to be traded, etc., saying that he doesn't have time to play on a crap team and that he wants his ring. That isn't veteran leadership. That isn't showing faith in your teammates, and that sure as hell isn't going to have a positive impact in the locker room. He's also selfish and hypocritical. He comes here saying he doesn't care how many points and shots he gets, but he just wants to open the game up for AI, Iggy and Korver with his passing like he did in Sacramento for Bibby, Peja, etc. Did he do that? A little bit, but not quite enough. 90% of the time he got the ball, he took the shot, even if it was a bad one. I can live with a few bad shots from every player, but when he takes a shot instead of passing it up to a wide-open Korver or setting up a cutting Iguodala, that just annoys me. I remember when AI went down for a few games in the middle of the season, Webber said that he will need to lead this team and he will make a conscious effort to get everybody else involved in the game since AI is out. But he didn't...John Salmons always had a grudge and dislike for Iverson, but he developed an ever bigger dislike for Webber because of all of this.Yeah, Webber is still a very talented player in this league, and surprised me with his durability this past season, but he just isn't what this team needs. Plus, I haven't even gotten into the financial implications of his presence on this roster.

AI is willing to give uo shots for the sake of a wining team, but unfortunately for Webber, he feels the need to take a shot instead of giving it up. It seems he needs points for him to function. To be honest with you, Chris Webber is the one limitting the potential of Iguodala, not Iverson.

I wish we could trade the guy but now he's at the point in his career where we probably won't be able to get much for him.

I remember Iverson pleaded and begged Iguodala to be more aggressive offensively instead of passing up opportunities. Webber, on the other hand, doesn't care as long as he gets his money and his numbers.
