My sister is the same way. Been saying for as long as I can remember that shes never going to have kids and she never did (now late 30s). She did get two pugs however and treats them like baby humans. I'm 23 and I feel this way most of the time. Aside from one 20 year old its been over a year since I've been involved in any way with anyone under 25 years old. Granted the older ones were mostly kind of immature for their age but generally they're just more chill, straightforward, less mind games and insecurities, they seem to like my humor better. Some of my best friends are girls about my age and their attitude toward sex and relationships and men seems to be driven by some primal intra-female competition. They're perfectly rational and often agree that they make no sense or in the heat of the moment make shallow decisions which might contradict what they say (men do this too, and I'm no different). They seemingly care more that everyone else knows they're having a good time than about actually having a good time. Seems like the older girls have grown out of this or something.
I got married at 23. I just turned 30 and my son is 2 1/2. I always knew I wanted kids and didn't want to be an old parent.
If you're mature enough to know what you want, that's a smart move. I'm going to be an old dad, and the thought isn't pleasant. I wasn't enough of an adult at 23, much less 30. Kudos to you.
Some of the older ones I know are less interested in what you do, how much you make, what car you drive...etc. But there are a few who are still playing mind games and insecure. I gotta learn to avoid those women though.
I got married at 23 and had my first kid at 24. Then had another one about two years later. Divorced two years later and married again and had a kid shortly after. Divorced 4 years later. Now I'm married to the most amazing person on the planet! It really sucks because I can't have any children and wanted to bless her with one.
People that think their pets are kids are a pet peeve of mine. Unless you make your kids eat out of bowls, put them outside when they annoy you, not be potty-trained, and leave them with strangers for vacations for $25/day. if that's the case, your kids are your pets.
