lmfao first time I read it :HAHAHA: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Cyber Detective: Case #238532 I wanted an xbox 360 but wanted to get a good deal on it. So I turned to Ebay and here is my story:I win an auction on ebay for the xbox 360 premium. I pay the guy promptly that Friday June 2. $315 via paypal. His paypal account shows his name is Scott ****** and it is verified, meaning his name/address matches a valid bank account. He writes me an assures it is in perfect working condition and he will send me tracking number once he ships. I'm like cool. That weekend goes by.. and I hear nothing.I write him Monday morning, asking about status - when will he ship, has he shipped, etc? No reply. I write back Weds morning. Again no reply. At this point I am thinking I got scammed. $315 down the drain. I then decide to open a paypal dispute soon if he does not write back. (His ebay name is wrestle_guy and his town is Piqua Ohio. His last two ebay transactions involved wrestling related items - videos & videogame). Anyhow, I get no response on Thurs.Thursday I decide to open a paypal dispute. because he did not have a certain number of feedback, the sale did not quality for the 'paypal protection up to $1,000'. Instead it seems like it would fall back to ebay's policy of $200 minus $25 processing fee. So I'm thinking at this point, I may get $175 back out of my $315. Paypal also can try to withdraw the full amount from the guy's account but I'm sure by now he has withdrawn it & moved it elsewhere.Thursday night comes around. Still haven't heard anything from him. This is almost a week after I paid him. I'm bored and I'm thinking I should try to look up this guy's info. So I start googling for more info. I find some websites, yellowpages.com, whitepages.com, peoplefinder.com,etc... Peoplefinder seems to work pretty well (it finds sister's, brother's, mother's, father's names too). I search on his name Scott ****** in Ohio. I find a match in Piqua, Ohio and it lists his age (22) and his mom's name. I then continue searching. I try whitepages and get no results. I then try searching whitepages.com on his mom's name and I get her address/phone number returned.I then call that number at 10pm Thurs night to try to track down her son. A guy answers; I ask for Scott. He says "this is scott". I then ask him if he recently sold an xbox 360 on ebay; he stumbles for a second, then says ... " ... no". I then ask if he is into wrestling... again, he stumbles for a second, then says ' No'.. At that very second in the background on his TV I hear the Ultimate Fighting Championship show on SpikeTV. So I know this is him. I tell him he knows who I am and I know who he is, and I want my money back. He hangs up on me in mid-sentence.Friday comes around; I decide to call the cops. I call the Piqua, Ohio cops and my local cops. I dont file anything but I talk about it with them. I then decide to print out all the evidence of ebay messages/paypal payment receipt/etc and mail to his mom's address. I mail it all during lunch to her address. Then I figure I may as well call her. I call her this past Friday at 7pm. I ask for her, she answers. I explain my case; her son listed a 360 on ebay; I paid him $315; havent heard anything from her for a week. She tells me she will look into it and get back to me within a half hour. Well, 40 mins go by and my phone rings. I answer; its scott. He asks for me, then tells me he sent me a refund. I check paypal and he sent me a full refund for $315.So, I got the m*ther f*cker by calling his mom. I know she probably grounded him and then stood there and made him call me to apologize. It was great; made my weekend. So, if you ever need any cyber crimes solved, just let me know. I'll call their moms.icing on the cake:http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...rid=wrestle_guy</div>^click the ebay link for the proof :HAHAHA:-http://wuvt.blogspot.com/2006/06/cyber-detective-case-238532.html
LOL I started cracking up when I read he called the mom of the seller. If I ever get scammed on ebay I'm making sure I do that. Nice find.
Funny thing is, he has like 33 positive buyers and 3 negative ones including this guy here. So go figure, I stay away from these types of sites because you fully can't trust anyone. I only buy online from a legit actual store or amazon(not used).
The guy who wrote this is very smart *thumbs up*I would NEVER buy from eBay, it's just a site full of scammers.
Wow, that was pretty smart of him to think of calling the guy's mom. I'll try to keep that in mind if I ever use eBay....
