There is our trade deadline acquisition. Only Cashman can spin this the way he will. And in October tell us how flawed he is and wasn't worthy of a new contract.
The truth is Granderson has always been a great guy, I can't help to think that the Yankee culture of Home runs has somewhat effected his average but how many guys have hit 40 hrs in the last 3 years. You listen to the trade breakdown on MLB and everyone is bringing up Adam Dunn, he would make Dave Kingman look like a contact hitter. Side note, I saw Dave Kingman hit the bowl down the left field line at the old Olympic Stadium in Montreal many moons ago. It was a majestic shot. They later painted the spot on the rim.
Hey, after last year, I never wanted to see Granderson take another swing as a Yankee. But now? He can't return soon enough.
He's going to help a lot IMO, just getting one more dud out of the lineup will be big, and he's coming back at a good time in the schedule, if they can steamroll the Padres and WSox, things will brighten up.
We'll hope to get a good game out of Nova, but BUFF is on the bump tonight, Homer on Sunday, Good God Almighty. Still remember the White Sox sweeping a better Yankee Team than this last year. Too bad the Yankees can't drop off Homer & Jobba in San Diego and leave with Headley. Glad to see Granderson back to stretch the line up but it sure would add if gamer at 2d base got his head on straight.
Yep, he's an addition and an addition by subtraction. I've said it before, I think you can expect better performance out of the Wells types when they are in the role they were brought in for. Hopefully Wells in particular flourishes while alternating with Ichiro. Both of those guys are nice 4th outfielders.
