I read on NBA.com that Tyrus Thomas played in his first real basketball league in his Junior year of high school. He said he played ball for 4 years and then went to the nba. Wow...anyways, how do you guys think he will do this season?
I believe Tyrus Thomas will be a decent player. He won't have much of an impact, but I have a feeling he'll be on the All-Rookie First Team.
He will not be on the All-NBA First Team. PJ Brown is starting. I think LaMarcus will put up more stats than Tyrus.
Just because Tyrus isn't going to start doesn't mean he won't be on the All-Rookie First Team. But... eh... Maybe you're right. Who knows?
A couple points to make on the various posts.1: Alridge is on the shelf due to surgery so his impact means nothing.2: If you make all first rookie team you have made a impact on the team, otherwise you would not be there in the first place.3: Yes Brown is starting but I think Tyrus will get in the starting lineup before the season is over. The energy, play-making and any other ability that John Paxson will bring up with this guy fits this team perfectly. He will have a impact, not starting also takes any pressure off him to produce right away. Paxson and Skiles have said that over and over again since he was drafted. They are not looking to him for points right away, just for him to use his freaky atletic play making abilities to contribute to the team in any way he can. Considering how fast he has risen as a basketball player there is no reason to think he will not excell under such a good coaching staff and with so many quality guys around him. The Bulls took the best player available in the draft and a guy that will contribute to this team.

I don't expect him to reach All-Rookie Team now, though. I did at first, but eh...? Whatever.
Gerald Green only played 2 years of high school ball as well (and he didn't even go to college) and he went straight to the league. Guys like these are just born gifted. But Ty will play some ok backup minutes this year, nothing too crazy. But he has all the potential in the world to become a star. He's big, long, athletic, can play the 3 and 4, awesome leaper, good shot blocker, good defense, quick. He has all the tools, the rest is mental.
