The rejection of a 9% raise is why these idiots are picketing.

Why are they picketing at a funeral home?

"Per" year, or "over" the next two years? The way it read, I was thinking it averaged to 4 1/2% per year. :dunno:

That's better than what most people are getting, isn't it? People are losing their jobs every day, and these union ghouls who work at funeral homes want raises. That's an odd enough job as it is, but to disrupt funerals because the boss didn't give you enough of a raise? Disgusting.

    Teamsters are hacks. :)

I do not think he is not criticizing them, but merely not jumping on a media slanted article. The 9% raise was thrown out there to make them look unreasonable. Do you know if all other benefits stayed the same? It is easy to offer a raise if they cut other benefits. Unless you were there, it is also questionable how the events played out. Notice how they picked the most emotional topics like a child's funeral or the daugher to write about?

I have seen both sides of the union issue. I have seen guys getting hammered on lunch breaks, knowing they were untouchable. Also heard too many stories from my friends about guys taking advantage of union status. However, the need for unions still exist because of corporate greed.

Corporate greed is the going to be the downfall of America as if it already isn't.

As for this thread, I don't like worms, I'm more akin to powerbait. :)

You're giving the whole 'mainstream media' talking point and then acting naive to watching foxnews. How precious.

Why doesn't someone go to a Chicago newspaper website and see if there is a more complete story.

What part of a judge ordering Teamsters away from a funeral home is "media-slanted"? There is no way that NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the liberal media would report on this real world situation. It doesn't fit into the template of unions being awesome. So, since FoxNews reports it, and no one else does that is "major", it can easily be dismissed, even though there is a court record detailing why and how the decision was reached, and it's easily accessible via a court transcript.
