After trading Swift along with Rudy Gay to the Grizzlies, the Rockets definately need help at the PF spot. I think Keith could be a good addition. He has alot of experience, he has range, and he is a hard worker. What do you think? Should the Rockets use the last bit of their MLE for him?
I dont see a reason why not. But at the same time I dont see why. He will make a nice addition but could they get someone better for a better price. So I am neutral if Houston made a deal with Van Horn.

Go ahead and take him. He seems to be the only PF left for the Rockets options. Might aswell use the MLE on him also
Just wanted to say, has anyone noticed that every Van Horn thread, mavsfan has something to say. And it's basically the same ole sh*t.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Uh..because their only PF is Juwan Howard..</div>Actually they have Chuck Hayes and Steve Novak as well...Actually, what they really need it a backup center. I don't think they should waste money on Keith Van Horn.

Keith sucks, but he's probably better than any decent center you could get right now. I'd say use the MLE on him, if you're the Rockets. They probably won't though.

Well to the Houston fans, who don't know what Van Horn is about, I am just giving them some info on what he's worth. He is crap and a has been.
The bottom line on the KVH thing is that he gave Dallas good backup minutes threw his stay and came at a bargain from Miluakee. We gave them Calvin Booth and Alan Henderson for him and then we got Henderson back a few weeks later. Last year he played pretty good when he wasn't coming off an injury. He did better than anyone else could of at the backup 4 spot on Dallas's team last year. Better than Powell, Mbenga, or Diop could of done. This wouldn't be as bad of a signing as Mavsfan is trying to make it. Hell, I'd take him over Howard. He can stretch the floor and will make other teams pay if they double T-Mac or Yao. He wouldn't be a bad pick up.

They obviously need a filler at PF for next season, so why not Keith Van Horn? He can go out and score points. He works hard, and brings his all to the games.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (KCX @ Sep 15 2006, 06:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>why is he still playing in the nba? go to europe</div>Why would he go to Europe? He is still playing at an NBA level, and had a big year only 2-3 seasons ago.

Not really, even if we signed Van Horn, Chuck would still be playing at least 15-20 minutes. Have you seen him play? Everyone has high hopes for him. Novak is still a bit of an unknown, but he'll get playing time as well, at least until he proves he's a bust or not.

yeah, which explains why he has yet to sign with a team, even after returning in August. He's also stated he wanted to play closer to home if possible, ie. Nugs and Utah. Nugs have a glut with their forwards and Utah hasn't shown interest. So I see him leaning towards retirement to spend time with his family and continue with other endeavors. For this rumor, I think it's pure speculation by the reporter.
