I didn't want to start a new thread for this rumor, but figured some of you might be interested. Apparently Clint Dempsey is on the verge of completing a move to the Sounders! This is good for the MLS, but shitty for USMNT and our chances in Brazil. We need all of our players in their peak form and playing, even as a rotational player, and training in the EPL is better than starting in the MLS. Also, MLS ends in the fall, so unless he somehow has a loan in place in January (or maybe this is a loan and he is hoping to make a transfer in January), this makes no sense. Yeah there is uproar in RCTID'ville as Timbers have first spot in allocation order for returning MLS players and USMNT players. So how they jumped ahead of Timbers to sign them I dont know. But yeah... a Spurs shirt and a Sounders shirt in one calendar year? #FavoriteUSMNTplayerNoMore but to seriously answer the question its worse to see him in a Sounder's shirt. Did you see the rumors last night? First he was spotted at SFO at a gate for a Seattle flight, but then the guy that spotted him said he never got on that flight. Everton is/was in the Bay area I think. I'm hoping he flew to the US to meet up with them. Maybe he and Donovan can join Everton together, ha. Anyway, if this move does go through, it sucks on so many levels!
