You're right. Girardi clearly isn't inspiring Sabathia enough.

...yeah, let's fire a guy who will likely garner a lot of votes for Manager of the Year....brilliant, simply brilliant.

...between ESPN boards and here, this is about the 10th time the OP has started a "fire Girardi" thread...and it was just as inane the first time.

In the list of all our problems, Girardi doesn't come in the top 25 issues to be solved immediately. Pasta, I respect your opinion but even though Joe is not perfect, no manager is, there is a wisdom among baseball purist that a manager may be worth 5 games in a season. Girardi is way ahead of that this year. I would love to see anyone from past to present that could do more with what he was given to work with this year. A collection of AARP, Pawn Wars, and the likes I can only hope never to grace a Yankee roster ever again.

I can't fathom how you could want to fire a manager who has a rag tag team of 2nd and 3rd stringers and somewhat still in the hunt... this isn't his fault..

This organization has so many issues right now from top to bottom that your obsession with all things Girardi is just comical.

What the hell does that have to do with the organization at this present time? You tell me when Yogi, the Mick, Dimaggio, Jackson, Ruth and Gehrig are coming to save the day. Is Whitey Ford getting the start tomorrow in Chicago?

First, and foremost, the Circus that is coming to Chicago tomorrow for me represents the last blow to this organization courtesy of Alex Rodriguez. If you have landed the 2 largest contracts in baseball history, for 99% of the players that have had the privileged to put on a MLB uniform, there should exist a responsibility to the game. Tomorrow the most storied franchise in baseball will have hundreds of media guys in their face asking all sorts of questions. The politically correct answer will be "he is my teammate, he is one of us and until the process shows otherwise. So it will begin, the total demise of Arod, sure he will appeal and who knows, really who cares, because this narcissistic piece of shit will once again protect his money at the cost of this organization, his manager, his teammates and the fans and corporate sponsors who pay his salary. So Pasta, drop the shit about Girardi, he should fire Cashman for giving him this mess to manage. Regardless of the final standings, Girardi has maybe had 3 major league hitters in the lineup for the first 100 games. He maybe has gotten X number of quality starts in the first 100 games but tell me in recent memory was any from a guy named CC. There were over 1600 career homeruns on the DL this year at one time. But Girardi is our issue. Accountability, you want accountability, write Hal, Randy, or Cashman and ask them what the plan is for this franchise besides a balance sheet and a budget. No Pasta, I respect your opinion, but our problems only get worse on Monday, whatever chance this team has to make a run at a WC position gets even harder tomorrow. You would think it should be a great day for the Yankees with one of the greatest player to ever play scheduled to be back into the lineup, well you worry about Girardi, I'm worried about the 40 man roster he has to work with. God couldn't win with this team...

...Jesus Christ as a Manager couldn't help this team...not sure why anyone expects Girardi to.

I've never been a fan of Girardi's & I look forward to the day that he's no longer on the Yankee bench. BUT.....even with some of his head scratching decisions this year. This team as it is, is no fault of Girardi's. He really hasn't had a whole lot to work with.

Of course, as a manager you are like a general during wartime, you fight with what you have. And like a general, until you have orders not to, he gets his chance while appealing the suspension.

In the last game (loss) with the Chisox, Girardi should've had Overbay sac bunting w/runners on 1st and 2nd base none out in the 8th inning.

He promptly hit into a double play and killed the inning.
This was a good chance to play little ball while trying to pad a one run lead. I don't care if a "pitcher" was due up next at bat....try and move those runners along to 2nd and 3rd base while staying out of a DP (via the bunt) and take your chances with the next TWO batters. Jeeeez
