I don't want this slug resigned and especially not for the ridiculous money and years he's going to be looking for. Nobody is going to convince me he's not a product of heavy PED use. You resign this guy and mark my words you will see a yearly declining batting average until he's nothing more than a homer or bust type guy. Just say no and be the smart organization for once. The Cards moved on from Pujols. The Rangers moved on from Hamilton.

Once again, Yankee policy of not negotiating in season I feel has bite them in the ass again. If they were going to be proactive, they first would have accepted the fate of this season, coming to terms that no one player is going to save this franchise. The stars have grown old and brittle, the farm is bare, and several long term contracts cloud the future. As vette pointed out in another thread, it was right after 2009, that the Yankees signed Granderson to a long term contract, giving Jackson and others up in a trade. The fans coming off the championship felt that granderson would be awesome in Yankee Stadium and he produced HR's and high strikeouts. But it also showed that the organization (who ever they are) were still of the business model of buy what you need. That has been our only business plan in the last 10 years sprinkled in with Cano and a occasional reliever. They should of signed Cano and dumped him at the trade dealinr for real assets. The Rays gave up a lot to get Wil Myers who most likely will be the ROY. The Red Soxs tied up Pedrosia, but we let it come down to letting Cano go for a fucking pick or being leverage into another long term contract that 6 years from now we will be a new message board format and complaining about the Yankees vision. Cano has no leadership skills and neither does our GM...

Hearing tonight that both ownership & Girardi have no problem with Cano's laziness, I want three things to happen.

#1 Any organization that condones this doesn't deserve to own a team. So please sell.

#2 Any manager that doesn't have the balls to reign in there players doesn't deserve to manage.

#3 Let Cano walk because I agree with Mess, now that everyone is under a microscope his #s will start to decline.

That's incredible that they would go public with that. Wow, what are we becoming? First, Girardi cannot go along with this. Did anyone else see the sloppy play from Nunez and Cano today, granted Romine's throws bounced but Cano gloves that short hop every time, stone hand Nunez didn't do the same and on the soul of Billy Martin, proves to me they are playing to collect money. And in the meantime when there is a shitstorm brewing, Hal buries his head, Cashman gives soundbites, and we look leaderless. With our luck JayZ will lead the group buying the Yankees in the near future. Buckle up for this ride!

...Major, I'm pretty sure the Yanx tried to resign Cano just before he left Boras for JZ.

I didn't hear it... where did they say that they had "no problem with Cano's laziness"? If they did indeed say those things, I agree with your 3 things you want to happen.

ok... so those are Kay's words... I wonder if Ownership or Girardi have actually said those things or Kay is just perceiving that they are... either way, that little nugget is out there now...
