...so much as been "reported" that I don't know what to believe...so until it actually happens, I won't believe anything till I see it.
59, I am so over the Arod show. The game and everything else has become secondary. Forget the fact that they are fighting for a wild card spot. All anyone cares about is seeing Arod play tonight. I just want them to win and win every game. I am so sick of this Arod crap. I wish they would just ban him for life and be done with this BS.
T.J. Quinn reports that despite late effort by union to deal for A-Rod, MLB intends to formally suspend him at 3 pm through 2014 season.
And then we will have to watch him K with the bases loaded and down a run in the 9th tonight and then tell ourselves that he is an upgrade over what we have had at that position. If Arod isn't enough evidence of the negative side effects of a long term contracts that takes players into their 40's, call the Angels.
Schilling finally said something I agree with, when discussing Arod stats, he found it "disturbing" to see Arod's name with Gehrig's. And when you look at this in that simple way. He isn't worthy of sharing anything with a Gehrig or a Jeter. If the Yankees wanted to be classy again, they would fight Arod in court on the basis of fraud and loss of potential income because of Arod's loss of earning power, that when they signed the contract, they were under the impression that Arod would be morally, ethically and legally obligated to follow the rules of MLB and of his own union.
...and on top of all of this BS, and the 211 game suspension - he's actually PLAYING tonight! This is absolutely ridiculous.
He has millions and millions of reasons to get back on the field. That's all there is to it. He has nothing to lose by appealing and only something to gain with the suspension being reduced.
While I agree that the Yankees are more or less screwed over, I can't believe that they didn't know some of this was going on before they signed him... I mean, come on... Do I want out of his contract, hell yeah, do I want him off my team, hell yeah, but I don't think the Yankees are completely innocent on this...
Let's see. THE BLAME GAME. MLB and all its cronies head the list. They knew years ago about this crap. They twiddled their thumbs and procrastinated. The owners of each team are total hypocrites. They knew who did and who didn't. And these people want the bulk of blame to fall on the players........BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN MORALLY COOPERATIVE. IF MLB had acted quickly and authoritatively when this nonsense was in its incubation stages, just maybe this baseball fan would support their game...... ALL INVOLVED HAVE TARNISHED THEIR OWN GAME. P.S. I do not like Alex Rodriguez. Yet, I have come to really dislike Yankee management.....
