A-Rods suspension was for 211 games. The 49 remaining this year & the 162 games next year. But A-Rod is appealing it.

Now, here my problem. Lets say no one hears this appeal until AFTER this season is over. And Alex gets to play all the remaining games this year. Now, lets say he loses the appeal & the suspension stands as is 211 games. NOW.....this suspension takes him 49 games into the 2015 season. This makes no sense to me.

And further I need to add this Francisco Cervelli was not coming back this season due to injury. & from what I understand his suspension counts even if he's on the DL. Yes he loses the money from the 50 games. But that's it.

The best case for Arod would be the arbitrator reducing his suspension to 50 games. The worst case would be a suspension for the entire 2014 season. It's very possible when all is said and done that he gets 150 games.

Rick, here is the answer to the two scenarios,

First Cervelli, he loses any money due him for 50 games while on IR. Once 50 games are played, he has fulfilled is suspension.

Second, is more of a cat and mouse game. As much as I hate Arod, the burden of proof will lie on the facts of the investigation, and if the arbitrators considers this a first time offense as far as the CBA and the union is concern.
Arod is guilty, he know that, but by the nature of arbitration, usually concessions are made by both parties, for Arod, losing 7.5 million per every 50 games is the issue. His staff of lawyers are betting on a lessor suspension period. If they get the arbitrator to rule this is a first time offense, then his attorneys effectively save him 22+ million. Arod will be glad to cut his loses.

However everyone is complaining that Bud went soft and I disagree. There is a potential danger of information that might coms to the attention of MLB from the testimonies and potential federal investigation, may still well leave Bud to sanction Arod under the best interest clause. The players union gets to save face now, while the Commissioners office potentially win later. This winter the players amend the CBA to have a clause about future contractual obligations to offenders. a win win in time.

If the Federal Investigation does what it should, the facts that they will uncover potentially could lead to the final chapter of Arod.

I initially though Bud Lite had wigged out but after hearing what you posted on MLB last night it appears he made the right call. I do wonder though how much Showalter and others crying about the Yankees not having to pay him entered into that descision. Now it looks like all parties are happy. MLB broadcast crew shamed A-rod for what he had done then went on to say how good he looked playing ball. Relly weird. May justice now come swift and accurate.

The Cervelli situation makes no sense to me at all. I would think that not being allowed to play the game that you love for 50 games is just as difficult as losing the money I would have made during those games. In Cervelli's case approx 140 thou. If I'm Cervelli I'm thinking (or even laughing to myself) Hell, I would have missed those games anyway due to my injuries so while the others are losing the right to play AND money, I'm just losing money. This is just D U M B! no other word for it.

You know hammer - it really svcked watching the first 2 innings of that game last night. Forget that Andy blew up - the fact that Arod was once again in a Yankee uniform, knowing what we all know about the guy - just disgusting.

In the end, just like in life, it's all about the money, everything else is window dressing.

I'm sure all of us felt something from having to watch the franchise we love get dragged through the mud. As much as we have come accustom to winning, we all here may bitch about a loss, a player or the organization. That is normal if you are a passionate fan like we all are. But to watch Arod lie, manipulate and use the Team and his teammates for his own benefit. I can't believe that other pitchers aren't throwing at the hips. The Dodgers Skip Schumaker said it best. Hey, in the major leagues, I'm not a very good ballplayer compared to others, but I have to work harder to follow my dream. In closing, what bothers me the most is Braun is going to do this and be able to make his money next year and years to come, Arod will preserve a portion of the 100 million, you and I break the rules and drug policies at our job and we are fired.

Instead of banning Arod for 211 games. Can't we ask the league to suspend Arod from the Yankees? Forfeit all the money owed to him on the contract. And he has to find another team to play for? That would essentially be a lifetime ban cause I doubt any team will touch him. Okay I can wish can't I?

So while all the others are basically getting 2 penalties (games & money) Cervelli is only getting 1 penalty (money). Am I the only one that sees something wrong with that?

you know... it's times like this I'm glad I can't watch the games... I promised my oldest we would be watching a lot of games together next year, but if A-Rod is on the team next year, I don't know if I can even watch them... I'm just so disgusted by this

It's funny to me how Arod is so worried about how he looks in the public's eye. Yet he looks like the biggest piece of shit! By far the biggest piece of shit baseball has every seen. He is a liar in every sense of the word as well as the biggest cheater. And now he is being a selfish fuck too! What next?
