deal coming soon. seriously, this feels like when we were stacking assets prior to that late 90s/early 2000s team.
Re: Mo Williams! I said that from day one. He may be in the future, but right now he is not a PG. And I have never had a problem with that. The Jazz loved Mo last year. This is a pretty good move.
Lillard now has his backup. CJ is free to grow and learn. I'm just wondering if anyone has to be cut for this addition? Edit: just looked at the current roster. Yeah, there HAS to be a trade coming.
I think it's a great move. You can't have enough quality vet guards. He can run an offense, shoot and doesn't buckle under pressure. Sometimes these vet guards can keep the team on track during the long and grueling season.
Starters: PG - Lillard SG- Matthews SF - Batum PF - Aldridge C - Lopez Bench PG - Williams SG - McCollum SF - Wright PF - Robinson C - Leonard 3rd String PG - Watson SG - Barton, Crabbe SF - Claver (although I hope he gets more run than 3rd string) PF/C - Freeland What this really does is protect us against injuries and builds assets. I like the move, and again a 2 year deal.
Chris Haynes @ChrisBHaynes 2m Sold #Blazers will be playoff team w/ addition of Mo Williams. Last year starters competed with the best of them. Bench can do the same now.
Williams also another player that will make Lillard more effective by being a guy that you cant leave open.
Once again I say well done Olshey. The only minor concern that I have is our back courts are fairly short BUT I would rather have a short GOOD back court then TALL crappy back court AND we have plenty of other players (Batum, Claver) that can play SG in spot minutes if matchups ditcate.
