So now with Mo we have a bench of... Mo, CJ, Wright, Trob, and MyLo

    Nets have Terry, AK47, Blatche
    Spurs have Belinelli, Green, Diaw
    Indy has Lance, Scola, Mahinmi
    Bulls have Hinrck, Dunleavy, Taj
Memphis has Bayless, Miller, Davis, Koufos
    Clippers have Collision, Crawford, Barnes
Miami has Cole, Allen, Battier, Anderson
Denver has Miller, Chandler, Hickson, Mozgov

So I think those 8 other teams have benches at least close to as good as ours. A few of them may be superior. The other 21 teams clearly have inferior benches. If one of CJ, Meyers or Trob really suprise people and bust out with a huge year we could easily have the best bench in the league.

I think its fair to say that our bench has as much potential as anyone in the league but most of our bench still has to prove it.

For the record I think one or two of them will prove it.

For me, I guess it all comes down to Robinson panning out. I think he will, but he's the big question mark. I think Mo and Wright are safe bets, and I think CJ will do just fine overall (maybe slow start, and a few stumbles, but overall he'll do what he's suppose to do).
Leonard? Who cares. He's the parsley on the side of the plate. As long as he's not putting the ball through the other team's hoop he won't be the difference in us having a good or bad bench.

We had a historically bad bench last season.

Please, keep the chest thumping predictions to a minimum.

The best benches in the NBA scored around 35 points per game.

IF HEALTHY (no injuries to any starters or key bench guys), we have two new guys that should get us 20 or more (Mo and Wright). To be one of the better benches, we not only need full health, we need a couple of guys to step up their game. All of that could happen. There are no guarantees that everything falls into place. We don't have enough depth to withstand a normal NBA season with average amount of injuries and still claim a great bench.

Easy way to make our bench awesome: start Mo at the point and have Lillard be 6th man.

What a concept......building a team from the bench, up.

Not to be contrarian, but I would argue that that's the exact opposite of what we've done.

The starting 2-3-4 were in place, we drafted a starting PG, tried to draft a starting C; that didn't work, so we traded for a new starting C. First the starters were identified/solidified, and then the bench was built afterward.

Of course "if healthy," that goes for every team. Leonar was our garbageman and got 5ppg( which bumps us to 25, and then I think we can expect another 5 points from Throb and CJ to bring us to 35ppg from our bench.

Meyers was deemed a project (2-3 yrs) when we drafted him. We never drafted him to start right away.

Speaking of projects, I'm hopeful he's not a bridge to nowhere.

Mo Williams is a nice addition, but this is still pretty much the same crew that got their asses kicked in summer league.

I think the Bulls will be 5th seed.

The Knicks won 54 with Amare crippled most of the season. Felton kicked ass for them.

The Nets have the best starting 5, bar none. A 20/10 PG with a 20/5/5 SG and SF. Garnett is still excellent at both ends.

Indy is going to be tough to beat if Danny Granger comes back. A very solid big 4.

Miami is the defending champs. By definition, the team to beat.

well, not really. of those players who 'got their asses kicked' in the SL, only McCollum and Robinson were expected to contribute.

Add to that Wright and Williams, and it's a big difference. Especially when you figure that the players who will also be in the game will be NBA vets instead of NBA scrubs (outside of Claver)

Nets, Indy, Bulls, and Miami are in the East. I'm a homer, right? Big foam finger with we're #5 on it.

I like what Damian Lillard said. We're good on paper, but we have to show it on the court.
