    It it brings in extra revenue and gets Paul a step closer to making a profit. I don't find anything wrong with this.

    Meh.

    I just have a large, large disdain for corporations. Especially with the comcast thing. I mean, monopolizing an entire fan base is just sickening to me.

    I understand that. However, I hate the monopolizing of fan bases with Comcast. It's really not needed, and I believe they are -finally- realizing it. So I can at least give them credit on that.

    But, whenever possible, I never buy from corporations or any big business. Again, whenever possible, which is becoming increasingly harder, unfortunately.

    I don't quite know what you mean by "monopolizing of fan bases"... Comcast paid the most for the Blazers' rights, and the Blazers took their money. Did Comcast make a good business decision to pay so much? It's not clear whether they did or not (we don't have access to their books).

    Did the Blazers hurt their long-term bottom line in pursuit of more money in the short run? Perhaps. But in the long run we are all dead and I'm not sure that, of the fans the Blazers have lost in the last six years or whatever, the broadcast situation is as big of a deal as the extended mediocrity and terrible luck with injuries.

    I think he means that the team should have diversified and not put all its eggs into one basket. It should have tried to make more money by selling rights to several carriers around the Northwest.

    I see where you're coming from with this. It's just that the mental image of "sheep" getting herded in to comcast sickens me. Not that we are all sheep, but the mere fact that in order to watch them, we have to go through them. I think that is just wrong.

    Again, I want to reiterate that people watching comcast are not "sheep", I am just merely using that for imagery purposes to make a point. I think Comcast and the Blazers are wrong in this, we're just the victim in all of it. Which is really, really sad.
