In the 40s we drafter guys like Mantle, Berra & Ford. In the 50s There was Kubek, Richardson, Pepitone, Tresh & Boyer. In the 60s There was White, Munson,Stottlemyre & Murcer. In the 70s There was Mattingly, Balboni & Guidry. In the 80s There was Pags, Bernie, Deion, Kelly & Leyritz. In the 90s there was the decade that led to greatness....Rivera, Jeter, Posada, Pettitte. And to a lesser extent, Mendoza, Spencer, Lowell & Johnson. And in 2001 there was Cano & Cabrera. Now sadly since Cano there's been little to nothing to get excited about. Doesn't exactly say much for the current crop on the farm now does it?
Wow, Rick, that hits the issue right on the head. They may not of had high draft choices but a lot of later picks are on MLB rosters
And since there is no current player development & obviously hasn't been for some time now, it doesn't really say a whole lot about the teams future.
