...I'd never defend Overbay, but I don't know that Cashman has a crush on him...I mean, what can he do as far as 1Bmen?...Tex is coming back next and will be at 1B for quite awhile so it would not make sense to go get another 1Bman to replace Overbay.
The guy is almost 37 years old & was only meant to be a backup player this year. So considering what he was thrown into this year & being our only real option at 1st base I can't complain. Of course you'd like to see more production from that position & have an OBP of .350+ but all in all I really have no problem with what Overbay has done this year.
