You knew that gutless sack of crap was going to implode, especially against a team like Detroit with all those boppers in the lineup. Hughes wouldn't even get offers from little league teams after this season. What are the Yankees paying Rothschild for, guy does nothing with those pitchers.

5545, That is what I don't get. How can so many scouts from our organization and others say this guy was special. The he regresses to where for me, it is painful to watch him pitch. Mark my words, he is going to go to a team that can coach him up, or force him to make changes he refuses on his own to do and flourish. He is the best 1 ball, 2 strike pitcher in the game. from the 4th pitch on is where it gets lost.

Many are still looking at that 18 win season he had a few years back. What they fail to remember about that season though is that he also got the highest run support. If I remember correctly it was around 7 RPG.

You can coach him from now until the cows come home. He doesn't have an out pitch. Some guys don't have good breaking stuff or they just can't control it. That's Hughes.

...but according to some, he's sure to get a big contract.
