Have you ever heard/read anything about colors in the show? Certain characters are (almost) always framed by certain colors. Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, Skylar White (sky = blue). Marie wears purple almost every time you see her and many scenes are completely tinted orange or blue. However the colors each character represents seem to shift over the course of the show. Google it. I have no idea where the show is going but I figure Jesse has to figure out about Walt poisoning the kid, letting his girlfriend die, almost killing him during the train heist, and killing Mike. Jesse clearly became the moral compass of the two, but a more interesting development from last season IMO was that Jesse started hatching plans and generally thinking things through better. Meanwhile, Walter stopped thinking as rationally and started acting on emotion and becoming prone to mistakes. If it does come down to those two going after one another, they could be setting it up for Jesse to take advantage of Walt's hubris as Walt did with the other kingpins hes bested. I've read some interesting theories about how WW may just try to frame Jesse and perhaps hes been setting it up for quite some time.
Yes I have heard about the colors. I saw an interview with the director who said they use those colors to help subltly and instantly move people into the mind frame of a particular characters story line without having to do any story line catch up. The example he used were the hit man brothers from season3. They got a special ommonious tint when it was their story time, and while watching season 3 I remember knowing something bad ass was about to happen with them before they were even in the scene. I have also noticed the purple with Marie pretty often, in fact my girlfriend would always bring that up. Ill read more into each characters colors and what they represnent when I have the time, thanks for the reminder. Also on a side note, I read the other day that a spin off series is planned with Saul Goodman (the lawyer). I have high expectations for that one as Saul is one of my favorite characters.
