Somebody explain Reddit to me. Why does it look so... old fashioned? What does it do that other things don't?
Reddit isn't polished. It's not all pretty and shiny like our forum, but it's based entirely on upvotes and downvotes. Popular posts make it to the top of the page, unpopular posts sink to the bottom. That's how it works. There's also tons of news and information on there that you would never find otherwise, but it's a virtually unchecked stream of information so it can be good and bad.
I found the format kind of off putting till I got use to it. Try www.jimmyr.com, they get most of their content from reddit and make it a better format, kind of a best of reddit and its how I first found out about reddit.
Pretty much everything you see that's funny on the internet was probably on Reddit one or two weeks prior to it making it on facebook or another medium of social interaction.
