How about Darryl "Chocolate Thunder" Dawkins and Shawn Kemp? They were both big men, but very sick dunkers.
Oh yeah, Darryl Dawkins is another idea. I'm not a big fan of Kemp, although I won't disagree that his dunks were awesome. I think that some of the other guys I put on my list are better than Kemp. But Dawkins should definately be on the list.

Anyways, that looks like a pretty good list, except I'd probably sub Thompson for maybe Webb. It's tough to say the exact order, but the top four is no question in my mind...Jordan-Dr. J, Wilkins, and Carter.
It's not all about jumping, Erving is the best dunker all time he has to excite more than even vince does.

Shawn Kemp4. MJ3. Dr. J2. Nique1. VCMy list isn't just based on the Dunk Contest. You have to also look at in-game dunks. You'll know why VC is number 1.
VC isn't number one. Watch MJ, or Dominique Wilkins, or Dr. J play. Watch some films, they will amaze you.
For their time, Jordan and Nique and Dr. J were incredible! Don't get me wrong. BUT you can't compare them to what Vince Carter has done, especially in games. I mean sure Jordan has dunked on a lot of people and he was easily a high-flyer, but when you really break it down.Jordan pulled a crossover, extended his arm, and slammed it hard.Nique was a little bit more creative in games with dunking.Vince Carter is pulling 360 windmills in his sleep.Take Jordan's top 5 dunks, then do the same for Dominique, and Dr. J. But then compare their top 5 dunks with Vince Carter's top 5 dunks - they aren't on VC's level.
Jordan is the best dunker imho, he's the only one that floats in the air.............reason why they called him AIR JORDAN.All of them are power dunkers and there is nothing wrong with that, but jordan is the only one who can combine power and grace in a dunk.

Hmmmm...1) Vince Carter- Right up there with MJ as most creative dunker ever in the NBA, but what seperates him is he is an explosive 2 footed jumper to where MJ is more of a glider. I generally prefer that style, as it allows for better in game stuff that you appreciate only in slow motion replay (which many of MJ's dunks take to find the beauty in them). And from '99-'01 VC was the best in game dunker ever seen. Just half man, half amazing.2) Michael Jordan- The most creative dunker to ever step foot in the NBA. He really didn't do much more than clutch and 180 dunks, but the way he just floated, the way he did very odd turns and movements in the air just made them spectacular looking. He was also a very good in game dunker early in his career.3) Dominique Wilkins- Another amazing dunker, very creative and POWERFUL finisher. His only drawback was that he didn't have that much variety. He was like VC in the sense that he was an explosive 2ft jumper, but outside of windmills he didn't do anything as jaw dropping as MJ or VC did. But in game he was a genious, and brought some showtime dunks into NBA games in the '80's.4) Julius Irving- The original MJ. Another amazing glider who could just float in the air. He could palm the ball like few other, and for his time was the most creative the NBA had seen up until that point.5) Jason Richardson- I know I am gonna get crucified for this, but he is my last pick over greats like David Thompson, George Gervin, Spudd Webb, Kobe, etc... People forget just how amazing this guy is. Off backboard between the legs? Piece of cake. A Dominique windmill done to absolute perfection? Easy dunk to get into next round. Other amazing dunks never before seen or attempted done with head at rim level each time? Check. Whether it be in game or in dunk contest, this guy is very underrated.
Michael Jordan is #1 by far IMO.I see LBJ in the top ten for dunkers NOT now but if he ever goes into a dunk contest who knows he could be one of the best. But, it's MJ for now and probley always will be.

LeBron is entering his 4th year, his chances are over. Plus, he never wanted to do it anyway.
