Ripken and Reynolds commenting that per Joel Sherman that the Yankeees should play out the string and rebuild with draft picks. Per Reynolds and Ripken new ball yard, lots of money, big fan base looking for W's. I don't think so. Granted this team has had some major issues I think the fans would be very unhappy if this team "mailed it in". Granted change is needed but tanking, finishing last to get draft picks ain't gonna cut it.

Never gonna happen. Yankees will try and win every game until they are mathematically eliminated and then maybe you see some of the young kids play more. They are not just going to be like an NBA team and tank games for more lottery balls.

I always thought Sherman was pretty cool but after hearing that I'm going to have some doubts. Maybe his Arod coverage is making him delusional.

Baseball is a crap shoot when it comes to the draft. And even then your looking at 4 to 5 years before a player drafted makes a difference.

I agree Al. This is not the NBA or the NFL. The fact of the matter is that this is a free agent league with the hope that you can develop some kids along the way.

Right Big D. And then factor in the crack yankee minor league development staff ROTFLMAO and you add a couple of years to that

    Play out the "string"?

As long as the Yanks continue to push hard trying to make up a 6.5 game difference for a wildcard spot.

This thing isn't quite over yet. This is BASEBALL....where teams can win or lose 5 in a row within a week.
    GO YANKS.

There are organizations in every sport would think nothing of it to tank
their season for better prospects............they all should be investigated.
And any body who thinks along these lines does not play fair to the
    meaning of "doing ones best".

Granted, there are times when I watch some players on these Yankees
not giving 100%........and I fume at their nonchalance, but the Yankees
have never tanked a season and I do not think they ever will.
The Yankees may be many things, but a tank team...they are not.

Only "bush" teams tank their season....and they know who they are!
