Police are looking for help to identify the alleged perps. No descriptions of the perps will be given, though, other than they're men. That narrows it down to about 50% of the population. It's a start.
Apparently non-descriptive bands of people are roaming around Chelsea beating gays and then robbing them. I blame the Tea Party.
Here is a Portland Police news flash from today - Portland Police Investigating a Parkrose Heights Neighborhood Bank Robbery - 08/14/13 This afternoon, Wednesday August 14, 2013, at 3:39 p.m., East Precinct officers responded to the Columbia Bank branch, located at 10735 Northeast Halsey Street, on the report of an armed bank robbery. Officers arrived in the area and contacted bank employees who told police that the suspect entered the bank, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money the suspect bank on foot and ran into the neighborhood. Officers conducted an extensive neighborhood search for the suspect but did not locate anyone matching his description. Officers did locate a few bills of US currency suspected of being taken in the bank robbery in one yard in the area. The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, 5'9" tall, 200 pounds, dark hair, dark baseball cap, glasses, a black t-shirt with a colorful design on the front, and tan shorts. Goes to show that people are indeed stupid. Belfies are beliefs, but you simply can't hurt someone because you don't agree with them. Also, what is the gay equivalent to a cougar because a 53 year old with a 27 year old is that.
What point is being made here is beyond me. Unfortunately there has been a rash assaults on gays in New York, including a murder, and very violent assaults on transpeople in DC. The reports I have seen give descriptions of the suspects where available.
I was trying to figure that out too. I think the point he's trying to make is that the media isn't describing them so that the public can blame the tea party, or honest god fearing straight white men or whatever
It is clearly not ok to just go out and beat up gay people. In this day and age I don't think there are many that would support that. That said, there are cases where I find myself thinking, are those guys TRYING to get beat up? I went into a bar last night with my two daughters to shoot some pool. This is a redneck bar with lots of blue collar workers from the nearby Weyerhaeuser mill. We had been there for about 20 minutes when to clearly gay guys come in. (Clearly, because they were holding hands when they walked in the door.) It was no big deal a first, but soon they are making out at the bar, and grab-assing with each other. My oldest, who goes to this bar fairly often with her boyfriend, says to me, 'this isn't going to end well.' I'm looking around the bar, and there are no less than six guys that are watching and rolling their eyes, or snickering to their buddies about the display of affection going on at the middle of the main bar. Fortunately, the worst comment I heard was, "Why don't you guys get a fucking room?" Nobody pushed them into a fight, and nobody went after them physically or verbally, other than that comment. But, seriously? Why would they go to that bar and do that? They had to know from looking around that what they were doing was begging for trouble. Most of the bar were dressed like loggers or mill workers, with a few cowboys thrown in. There are gay bars in town if they feel the need to express their love in a bar. I don't like seeing straight couples making out that heavily in a bar, any more than I like seeing two guys making out. Why the need to be in peoples' faces? It seems like they were looking for trouble to me, but maybe that's just the redneck in me. I don't get it, at all. To be clear, I do understand that it's their right to do what they did. The point is that it hard to find the perps when the only description is "male". Are we going to solve these crimes, or blame me, who is wondering why there is so little information on the attackers? crandc's post to me was 100% personal, anyhow, because she was complaining about this very thing happening in Russia, yet did not mention that it's happening in Chelsea more than rarely.
