Facebook became another hideous example of how self important people can be.

So, I'll see your NFL, and raise you a raspberry!!! Thppt!! But seriously, there is a monumental difference between this here that we do, and twitter, which, from what I understand is something about hashbrowns - I just got my tooth pulled and it sucks. I don't get it all. No one needs to know I'm down to 31, but I do like hashbrowns...

I do tend to agree with whomever it was that said baseball isn't really boring, its our instant gratification society that we live in, however, I will say they they could jazz it up a little. Blernsball anyone?

I work with young people every year and what I think Al doesn't understand is all these young twitter losers are either never going to get a job or will end up doing something they hate because they don't have the work ethic to find something they like. Most of the kids today take idiotic majors that are easy. Facebook and twitter are just ways for the youth of this country to avoid working towards being successful and posting useless crap about their everyday lives which nobody freakin cares about. The majority of people on this board probably have gone through several career changes, never gave up and have found something that has made them successful. When you have traveled enough roads, accomplished enough, you can chat on boards like this as a break. When you haven't accomplished jack shit like most of these kids, you should be working towards building a career path, not wasting time posting the last time you took a dump and what it looked like. If you go to the library in the summer, you see tons of Chinese and Japanese kids doing work. I guarantee they will get a job when they are older and twitter and facebook won't be a part of their daily activities.

The simple reality is the new generation of this country are soft, free loaders who have no drive. Either they don't go into fields that are challenging or they sit around having kids, waiting for welfare checks and the government to support them. It's pretty pathetic actually. If you want to know how many morons are in America. Just look at the fact that Obama who is completely useless was re-elected. That spoke volumes about the millions of morons in America. I could care less about Republicans or Democrats. You had to be dumber than dog shit to elect Obama again. It was the youth of this country that pushed him over the top. I bet you those dumbasses are still unemployed.

Right now I'm snapping my fingers, pointing upwards at your post, and yelling "BOOM" in total agreement.

You also have a large group of parents that spoil their children and hand everything to them. Oh you graduated high school so here's a BMW. Unless you're a complete imbecile you should be able to graduate high school. These same kids end up being useless in life unless their parents own a company and hand them a job. Otherwise they're still sitting at home in their late twenties sponging off their parents.

My girlfriend does EVERYTHING for her 21 year old son. He's graduated from college and heading for his Masters. He's lazy, has no credit, and she buys him everything without having much money of her own. He's unappreciative, and is a sad product of her enabling him to be that way. BUT........she thinks she is just being a good mom, and since he is not my son, it's hard for me to just say "WHAT THE F&@K ARE YOU DOING?" It's sad, I want her to spend her money on me haha.

    - If baseball made some changes, I would love it - 3 balls is a walk, 2 strikes is an out, that'll keep it movin'

    - Also, I just woke up from a nap.

I highly suggest you tell him he's a loser who will end up in a dumpster when his mom wakes up.

Ugh. Sounds like my brothers. Totally worthless, lived athome till their mid 20's, got everything handed to them, and then when it came time for them to move out (finally), one fell flat on his face, wound up in a freaking psych ward stayed there until he begged my dad to come get him. I would have left him there.

I walked out of my house when I was 18, and up until a few weeks ago I had never asked for anything. I got hurt really badly and asked my mom for rent money. It took me 12 years to ask for help, it took him less than 12 days. I think my dad still pays his rent. I'd feel so bad for doing something like that.

Most people at some point need help. That's OK. I did. However, you have to have a work ethic and be willing to do whatever it takes to make it. Kids today are pathetic. Soft. No drive. I can't wait to see how many losers I taught who will get some degree and just expect to get a job. They won't get crap and they will give up right away.

As for obama I'd like to say it's funny, but it's most definitely not funny ... On election day, I had to go into houses of a large majority of unemployed. And when I say unemployed, I mean people who don't work, and don't want to work. Election day was the one day where I found these houses vacant, because the tenant had to get out and vote because they were concerned they were going to lose everything that we as WORKERS pay for. Any other day, they are getting up at the crack of noon so that they can watch game show's or Jerry Springer.

the fact that there are people who abuse the system does not mean the policy in place to help people is wrong or bad. What the problem is the way the system is organized. My father was a union electrician who worked his ass off from the 60's all the way until he was forced to retire in the early 00's. There were times when the construction business was booming here on long island. there were also times when it was dead. During those times (thank god none that I remember) my father was unemployed, he had to go down to the unemployment office and prove he was wiling and able to work before he could collect anything. There were times he took out of state jobs so he could provide for his family.

Now all you need to do is log onto the unemployment web site and submit help me and you get a check. (I know there is a bit more to it but since ive never been unemployed ive never gone to the site). The idea to help someone get through a rough patch is a great idea.....

Same goes for workers comp insurance. ...how many fuckheads abuse the system? Why...because it is too easy to get away with it.

I don't have a problem helping those who genuinely need help (and their are plenty), but I am tired of being a surrogate father for those who choose to sit on their butt and do nothing, just because they can. The system would work just fine, if it had checks and balances ... which it is supposed to have.

As for your Father, I applaud him. My father worked a full time job, and when he needed to would take a part time job at night (before I was born) to bring in more money to assist where needed.

Now more than ever I want a time machine. I want to work with people like your fathers. I work with children and its infuriating. I work hurt, sick, and just about any other ailment until I drop. They go home with a belly ache. To be honest though, I might look into disability, at least a little, so I don't wind up permanently broken.

For an example, I work with a lazy lady who sprained her ankle, pretty badly at that. She's been out of work for 6 weeks. Six Weeks! I have two herniated discs in my neck, degenerative arthritis, and all sorts of other maladies that go with it, like nerve damage, and I've missed 8 full work days in 6 months for it. All the while, she's collecting unemployment and workman's comp (she didn't even hurt it at work, just came back and rehurt it to get it). I got nothing, couldn't get anything if I tried. Where's the justice? Ugh.

Tomorrow will be the 9th day, as I reinjured myself today, and had to go to the doctor.

Oh man, would I love a time machine. I would go back 30 years and warn everybody about what they have to look forward to, unless they get their shit together. Of course they'd probably just lock me up in the looney bin, so maybe I go back and make a few major investments instead. :ghoti:

Puckmeat ... hang in there my friend

I can't! My hands don't work so well anymore. LOL. Thanks man, I try :)

All in all, it could be worse, I could be that lazy bitch I work with (sometimes, lol).
