Plus the return of Nix to the lineup. Has there been one Yankee who has come up to bat with RISP this season more than Nix has?
Well gang the law of averages is in a bit at this point. Nova had some good ones, the Yankees have whacked the Jays this year with Overbay and Wells doing a lot of damage. Difference is the Yankees have an offense capable of coming back. The Jays have some boppers so we are concerned about Bomb Hughes tonight but Buhrle hasn't been Cy Young this year either.
Nova had one bad inning, and he struggled in a couple of others, but he showed signs that he could get by without his good stuff today. So I see this outing as an improvement over past years when Nova didn't show a lot of guts. He has matured nicely this year after coming off the DL. We needed it.
Nova a bit bad, Stewart a bit good, offense comes in, ditto the pen Yankees win. Now we hope that Bomb Hughes can shine a bit.
