Gotta think POR ranks up high with both geographical relevance and cool sounding name. Only ironic thing is the whole weed thing and our history with it over the past 15 years. Part 1: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9581428/the-definitive-guide-nba-team-names-part-1 If you enjoy BS reports, there is quite a long discussion about it. One of the guests mentioned POR as his best NBA team name.
It's cool Portland is #1 and all, but I don't know how much I can agree with a list that has the Jazz at #6. It is the worst name for a team based on the region in any sport. It would be like if the Suns wanted to rename the team the Eskimos. At least there are a lot of Canadians that come to Phoenix during the winter. The list rips into the Lakers for not changing their team name, but ranks highly the frickin' Jazz.
I'm pretty sure the cat is not there for me and you. He is there for the kids. Which is good. But this is frickin great. Were finally number one at something! It gives us a reason to celebrate.
Hmmm I don’t see how calling a team by the abbreviation of their city should be best of anything. If the Blazers played in the City of Whiskey Dick Mountain I guess I could see it.
No, actually I think it was a dog. It was the Portland Fire and I think they had a dog or something like that. Spot the fire dog. http://www.gameops.com/features/essay-writers/spot-video Which then spawned Blaze the trail cat.... so we can blame the WNBA for spawning the stupid cat.
"The Portland Trail Blazers, at about 2 minutes and 18 seconds past the hour of two o'clock have won the "Grantland Uniform Championship". They are #1! Yes, NateBishop3 is correct. Spot was a dog and was for the Fire. Blaze the Trail Cat has only been with the Blazers.
Whoops! It should say, "Grantland Nickname Championship". Got thrown off by the discussion of Spot and Blaze.
