10 Hours of VA per month now that I reached 5 years at my job. That comes to 15 days or 3 weeks. 3 Personal Business Days a year. 1 Govenors Leave day to be added before or after a major holiday. And 12 Days of Sick Leave per year. Paid Holidays Off. And about 7 Unpaid furlough days a year. Dang Dizzle. I guess that kinda helps crappy pay

My company works by the hour (everyone, including the CEO). So everything (bonuses, PTO) is calculated by the hour.

11% of my hours billed each month are accrued in a PTO fund, which I can use for anything: holidays, sick time, vacation time... or I can just cash it out as dollars (by putting a bunch of hours in PTO on a Saturday).

That works out to about 27 days off a year, based on a 2000 hour work year, but they don't pay any holidays or sick leave, so it's not as big as it looks.

Do you want the documented terms that are written in the handbook? Or do you want reality? Because the two are very different. Documented: 2 weeks paid vacation per year (which I've more than used). 1 week sick time.

But our company is small and nobody keeps track (I guess that would technically fall on me to monitor). But the big boss doesn't care, it's all about getting your work done. As long as I get my work done, I can keep my own schedule. Which is why some weeks I work nothing but half-days (without using vacation time). Since we're salaried, and we're a small company with only a handful of employees (most of whom do not live in Oregon), and revenue is growing at a solid clip, it's a relaxed environment.

I think he's referring to PAID days off, which don't exist in my current profession.

I take at least 3 to 4 weeks off a year from work. I think it's important to get away.

4 weeks plus 4 optional days and for every two weeks you don't call in sick you get .5 sick days. I can also combine my 4 optionals and a sick day into an extra week. Also get 5 paid holidays off.
Can't use any vacation or optional time from black Friday to january first.

I think I get 3 weeks, but it accrues and the first couple years on the job I took very little time off. Now I'm in the last year of my job so I'm trying to use up my vac days. So far this year I have taken a couple weeks off, I'm currently taking a third week off, and I still have 160h vac days and well over 300h sick.
