To answer HCP's question, I think Obama is incompetent, and I like to point out his incompetence in this forum. I don't post political stuff on Facebook, because it drives me crazy when other people do.

As this thread showed, there is a lot of hatred for Bush, and he hasn't even been around for over 5 years, yet still gets blamed for everything.

Do not confuse hatred with a grasp of reality and facts.

You're speaking to yourself, right? Your rants defending the incompetent Obama in this thread are a joy to read, though, so thanks for the laughs.

You mean where i say he hasn't done anything, and hasn't actually stood by what a lot of people in the party want?

But I guess it's kind of funny considering your inability to admit that Bush fucked up pretty bad.

The posters in here that think Obama is incompetent, would think Obama was incompetent no matter what he did in office.

He took office in a horrible time when Bush left and believe it or not, the economy has gotten better.

Its funny to me how this message board is like meeting place for the vocal minority Republican Blazer fans.

We vote in a Democratic President twice and yet everywhere I go on the internet there's angry Republicans drowning out forums with their vitriol.

Anyone who follows economic news knows that the housing bubble burst of 2006 wasn't an overnight happening. Deregulate everything and let the market take care of things eh? Besides that little old nothing, Bush (via a complicit Congress) slashed taxes which I'm sure you loved. At the same time he oversaw a massive expansion of government + started 2 wars + backed the hogs to the trough Medicare part D corporate giveaway, creating a ledger completely out of balance with a massive growing deficit. With these actions it's hard to see how he wasn't trying to deliberately crash the economy.

Ever hear of the old truism you've got to spend money to make money? While some expenditures are bad and only cost us (see Medicare part D), some (like most construction projects) pump money through the economy generating a proven return on investment that both parties have trumpeted over time. Unfortunately politics prevented us from investing in slam dunk proven winners for fear of the current President receiving some credit for Congress's actions.

so disingenuous, so wrong. Congress never voted on his budget and you know it

PapaG dominates so many threads, and starts so many threads over some petty political "outrage." It's no surprise that he wimped out of this one, specifically addressed to him by the nonpolitical HCP.

    Ha ha! You mentioned jobs?

Do you realize that employed Americans increased by only .83% in Bush's 8 years? That's total, not annual. All he cared about was creating wars and programs to spy upon Americans. Creating jobs isn't a Republican interest.

That's what I was thinking. The more Republican blowhards pretend to represent Americans, the more Obama keeps winning election mandates. A bunch of whiners who always fail when their side holds office.

Excuses, excuses. Anyone who follows the economic news knows that W inherited a giant stock market crash that wiped out as much wealth as was lost in 2008, as well as a decline in housing prices. Or that GHW Bush spent hundreds of $billions bailing out the S&Ls. Or that shortly after Reagan took office numerous banks failed, the auto industry needed to be bailed out, and the nation was on course to become a 3rd world nation?

    Only Obama needs your excuses.

He's incompetent and a terrible leader.

Clinton was elected in 1992, republicans took over the house and senate in 1994, and Clinton got things done. The only difference between those obstructionist republicans and this group is those actually impeached the president.

Faced with taking action to address the economy and pent up "liberal" spending needs, he had his chief of staff (Rahm Emmanuel) whisper in his ear, "never let a good crisis go to waste" and chose the latter. Rahm's doing a bang bang (sic) up job as mayor of Chicago these days, and the economy is struggling with the foot of government on its throat.

Ever hear of the truism that when if you have a borrowing problem the first step of the way out is to stop borrowing?

The Hill isn't your biased source (media matters? LOL).

Senate rejects Obama budget in 99-0 vote

A budget resolution based on President Obama’s 2013 budget failed to get any votes in the Senate on Wednesday.

In a 99-0 vote, all of the senators present rejected the president’s blueprint.

It’s the second year in a row the Senate has voted down Obama’s budget.

Obama's 2012 budget failed 97 to 0 last May after Obama himself last April said he wanted deeper deficit cuts.

The House earlier this year unanimously rejected Obama's budget.

The White House sought to provide cover for Democrats to vote against the Obama budget resolution before the vote, arguing the resolution offered by Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) was different from Obama’s budget because it did not include policy report language.

The economy repairs itself. What President Obama's policies have done is to dampen the recovery, to hurt ordinary Americans at the expense of his chosen constituencies/organizations.
