Yanks must be making a legitimate run at the playoffs....
Mike (the weasel) Lupica isn't such a happy camper and he's stinking up the place once again with one of his usual basic prejudiced slimeball articles ripping Arod, the Yankees, their farm team and of course....of course NOT finding anything "negative" to say about his wonderful Metsies who are once again in the process of having a bad year.

I heard Derek Jeter once say "We're the Yankees, they hate us everywhere we go" Gotta be great to be in so many peoples heads. I won't read what Lupica writes and there are a few others joining my S@@t list as well. I guess Yankees Fans get "rubber stamped" at being all for Arod but not true. Like or not Arod had rights which were exercised and all we can do is wait for the system, in the meantime: Play Ball!

I've got to agree. Though not a big fan of A-Rods he's not doing anything illegal by playing. So until decisions are made on the other shit, let it go. And like you said................PLAY BALL!

Ditto, I have never liked Arod since joining the Yankees, however, with that said, he is deserving of due process. Any per-conceived guilt that we have establish by reading newspaper articles will be made clear over the next year. The real stench is coming from a front office that is in transition in my opinion. What I hope for over the remaining games is for first and foremost, the Yankees to succeed on the field. I want the focus on the games. On Mo, who deserves not to have his final moments hijacked by the Arod circus. And as always, another happy ending to a 162 game schedule. I know you are all into happy endings...

...anyone notice that you never see Mike Lupica and Skip Bayless in the same place at the same time?...strange.

If other players were facing such a long suspension they would most likely be appealing as well.

I understand the distaste for the guy but who can blame him? he has nothing to lose by playing innocent.

Other teams are benefiting from PED users so why not NY?

I don't understand the need for such a long winded article, it's just a hate piece.

Lupica has hated the Yankees going all the way back to when he started at the Daily News back in the 70s'. He (Red Sox fan) and Dick Young (NY NL fan) were always against he Yankees. Nothing this guy writes about the Yankees surprises me at all. Not sure why anyone reads or listens to him.

I can't stand A-rod. But I am still waiting for someone in the media to grow a set of balls and wroie a long winded article about how David Ortiz has escaped all blame by simply acting dumb, has never answered any questions, and has essentially gotten better with age since his forgotten failed test as so many roiders have and has quite simply never every questioned about this stuff ever again. When the witch hunt for David Ortiz begins, i will then start to take these efforts seriously. How in God's name that big oaf, who shows up every player in baseball when he hits a HR, is beloved by players and media alike to the point where EVERY ONE OF THEM turns a blind eye to his ridiculous milk shake excuse....i will never know. And he has the nerve to stand there and answer questions about A-rod? And the media has NO never to even hint at his illusive failed test? Its a joke and has been a joke. This round of Bud and his media circus was a 2 man witch hunt to get A-rod and Braun. NO more and no less. The rest are collateral damage. Basball has to stop making this personal, stop taking sides with certain players and teams (No sigificant redsox outed in the Mitchell report is the biggest joke of all time),and start making this a TRUE effort to clean up the sport and not just drag a few big names through the mud to make themselves look good. Bud Selig...the guy who got rich on steroids in baseball with his Big Mac and Sosa dog and pony show might be the biggest hypocrite of them all in this mess.

Blue you're absolutely right. I've said it before & it bares repeating, during that circus of 98 better known as the HR chase between Sosa & McGwire. Selig sat back & enjoyed the show with everyone else. He was even quoted as crediting McGwire & Sosa with saving the game that season. And now he acts like he's appalled by the whole thing.

Blue my friend, hypocrite is to kind of a word in describing our commish. And yeah someone really needs to explain the Ortiz bullshit to me because I just don't get it.

Thanks guys.... Anytime we can shed light on a gigantic cockroach --- it's called a public service.

Now, I'll go one better......whenever Mike (the weasel) Lupica's name is brought up....I like to respond by saying:

I hope the Yankees win the World Series if only to raise Lupica's blood pressure...and maybe get a bonus if he jumps off a bridge. lol....jess kiddin..... maybe

its sad how people target him over and over and over but think selig is such a great guy while he shoveled money into his pockets during the sosa and mark mcgwire era and clammed up about steroids then.

    ___________________________

The last time I checked, Bud Selig wasn't conducting a personal vendetta against the Yankees....I submit to you, if you care to look, in approx 8 out of every 10 of The Weasel's Sunday columns, he takes some kind of shot at the Yankee org or one or two of it's players...or both. While at the same time, there is also another NY baseball team (Mets) which has been an embarrassment over the past few years and in some of those years, they've had a pretty high payroll and very very rarely (if ever) does he have anything negative to say about the Mutts...err Mets.

Now toss in one or two complimentary remarks from the weasel about the Redsox (another one of his pet teams along with the Mets) --- and presto, you have a Mike Lupica Sunday feature column.

To use one word to describe Lupica's "coverage" of the Yankees ---> prejudiced.

ALL CLEAR? Glad to help you out.

The best thing about '98 was the Yankees team accomplishment!
