Per the ESPN lineup display Jeter is playing short, batting second, good to see him back, hope he can stick around.

Maybe the best lineup we have had all year.

    Brett Gardner CF
    Derek Jeter SS
    Robinson Cano 2B
    Alfonso Soriano LF
    Curtis Granderson DH
    Alex Rodriguez 3B
    Lyle Overbay 1B
    Ichiro Suzuki RF
    Austin Romine C

    Phil Hughes RHP

It's amazing the absolute bums the Yankee pitchers allow to beat them. Pillar is terrible and of course on a 1-2 count.

In defense of Hughes (wow, did I really say that) the ball was outside and about 6 inches off the dirt, that one was just bad luck.

Arod with career homer #650 for those keeping score.

I just cannot stand Hughes. Cannot finish a batter to save his life. Another 1-2 pitch ripped into right field.

Ichiro needs to come up with that ball but Hughes is just absolutely worthless. He doesn't deserve another start this season. He has killed this team enough.

Just checked in on the game, another splendid start from Hughes. The man is headed for deep water this off season, I don't think the Yankees will re-sign him and with his current track record his value to a perspective team is zip.0.

And yet they're are still some posters here who think Girardi deserves MOY consideration. Dispite making one dumb decision after another. In this case sending Hughes out to the mound every 5 days.

I feel that maybe over the past 3 to 4 weeks, Girardi has suffered from temporary insanity. Some of, or lack of moves, have really been questionable. Again, not going Pasta on Girardi, but as I have stated before, since he's got his toys back (Arod, Jeter, Grandy, and Sori) he has seemed inconsistent.

This is what I am exactly talking about. Gardner is 2 for 3, and he sends up fucking Wells (strikeout) just can't take this shit. Stupid move, just stupid

Hughes has to be taken out of the rotation. I'd rather see Warren and Huff that an automatic loss.

Yeah but but but he deserves you know some votes for for well....for MOY because he's done....you know....such a great job. Reality check folks, he's done a DECENT job considering he's dealt with all the injuries. But you can't keep blaming the injuries on all the REALLY dumb decisions this man has made over & over & over again.

Granted Hughes stunk, but so did Kuroda, then Buff, Nova was OK and we'll pray for Andy tomorrow. As someone posted earlier tonights lineup was best this year but it failed finding 3 runs insurmountable. Eight runs in the last four games is not going to accomplish very much. Fortunately the Rays lost but Oakland is winning. I'm afraid this Yankee Team is going to need to "help" by other teams losing.

1-3 in the last four highlighted by bad starting pitching and a sputtering offense. You hit the nail on the head. It's not enough to say they put a hot streak together. That's what they had to do to get back into it.
