Why not just make Syria our 51st state and give them all citizenship?

It would be far cheaper than invading them.

This kind of makes sense to me, since it would cripple the US economy, and Putin wouldn't have to fire a shot at us.

Saudis offer Russia secret oil deal if it drops Syria

    A bit ironic, IMO.

WE NEED TO STAY THE FUCK OUT OF THEIR WAR.

    Learn from Egypt and Libya.

We have no interest in Syria.

It is a war we won't win.

    We can't afford another war.

There are no good guys to support (except the civilian population, and it sucks for them, but they aren't going to win, either).

No matter who we support, both sides will hate us.

If we get involved, I think we're going to see the fundamental change we were promised.

We can't stop being at war with someone, anyone. Our economy would tank if we did.

Unlike you traitors, I support our troops. If you oppose defending our freedom, move out. If we didn't fight wars, we would lose our cherished freedoms. How did we gain our freedom? War. How did we keep our freedom? War.

The Old Testament is replete with stories of God commanding us to go to war. Heathens have always thought they could live without God. Look where the pacifists are now. Dead in Hell. Look where the warriors are. God has rewarded them.

What do you propose we do about the use of WMDs against civilians in Syria?

Like it matters what the American people think or want in this. That hasn't really mattered since 1947.

I have doubts that Assad was the one who used the weapons. There is no proof; it very well could have come from the Al Qaeda rebels.

We don't have time to talk about Syria, we have to deal with Miley Cyrus and whether Ben Affleck should be Batman...

But seriously... yes this is very concerning. Frankly, don't think we can stand by if chemical weapons were actually used. Not sure what I would do, but that's why we have a President (so he can do something and then we can all complain about it later :) ). I hope this does not end up being a prolonged conflict. This is all rather scary. This needs to be massaged carefully with other countries in the region.

We should support the UN in whatever they decide to do.

The US does not need to be the police force for the Middle East.

US not only has a vote/veto on the security council, we are expected to be a leader.

Why the UN and not NATO?

Last I heard Syria is not in Europe.

I expect us to be a leader at the UN. If the UN wants to go into Syria we should fully support.

Why are we so obsessed with interfering with the domestic affairs of a sovereign state? Certainly chemical weapons being deployed against people is awful, but butting our nose into a civil war is somehow supposed to end well for us? Until and unless this conflict is directly drawing treaty nations into the conflict I fail to see the national interest here.
