Hiroki fails again, stumblebum Stewart, offense on coffee break. Oalkland needs a catcher so Bean gets Suzuki back. The GMs in Texas, Detroit, and Pittsburgh acquire pices for their teams respective pennant push. Cashman barks about Soriano, gets Reynolds, and the Yankees roll out Hughes every 5th game. Oakland has stumbled, faces Detroit, could be their end, instead they sack uo and kick Detroits can 3 straight. Yankees get lineup back go to Tampa, see their best pitchers get their plows cleaned, eek out 1 win. Go to Toronto and lose a series against a team they have owned. Pettite shows them how its done, Hughes is typical. Now the Yankees face Baltimore who may be coming off being swept with BUFF pitching Game 1 and unless a change is made Hughes in game three. Why would I lack confidence?
Hughes is Hughes, but CC and Kuroda have been killing this team, those two are supposed to be better, at least keep them in games. But all season long many of us said it's not the offense, it's the starters that keeps them from competing, and now we're seeing that fact realized, hopefully they spend less time this off season looking for bats, and more time finding a front line starter, that's the trade that needs to be made. And sadly I'm starting to wonder if Kuroda going elsewhere or retiring may be a good thing, dude looks spent.
^ dude is tired from carrying the rotation. CC has been an absolute team crusher this year. When they needed him to lead and eke out a win in low scoring games he faltered, and when they've given him a big lead he's faltered. Kuroda, Pettitte and Nova have been streaky but CC and Hughes have been consistently bad.
