Gleison Tibau (12-7 UFC) takes on Jamie Varner this weekend in what will be his 20th fight for the UFC. The 30-year old started fighting in the UFC in 2006 and is now the youngest fighter to reach 20 bouts. Only a dozen fighters have reached 20 bouts in the UFC with several of them being in the Hall of Fame. http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2013/...comes-youngest-fighter-to-record-20-ufc-bouts
Perhaps what's most surprising about Tibau's longevity is the fact that he cuts a metric shit tonne of weight to make 156. Reports were that he needed to lose 17 pounds today before he hit the scale. Rumour has it he cuts upwards of 30 during fight week and walks around close to 200. For a lightweight that is ludicrous and pretty dangerous. Somehow he's managed to keep doing that and stay healthy. Somehow...
Tibau supposedly weighed 180-lbs. tonight and looked to have a significant size advantage on Varner that worked out for him in the early rounds (not so much in the third).
