I was interested last year. Can't see it happening, though.

He's blown too many chances for me to be interested in taking a flier. Too bad; even as a tweener, he's a hell of a talent. I say we give T-Rob and Wright all the backup minutes they can handle.

Yeah, we kind of have the depth now that it doesn't really matter or not. probably better not because he'll probably do a Lamar Odom eventually.

I'd love him on our team. Head case, but talented. PR wise, I don't think it would ever happen.

It will be interesting to see if the Lakers take a chance on him. They did with Rider back in the day. And they do still need to add players.

The Suns Press Release is very interesting.

The Phoenix Suns waived forward Michael Beasley today pursuant to a termination agreement between the club and him. In accordance with that agreement, the compensation owed to him by the team will be reduced, and the Suns’ salary cap room will be increased for both the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons.

“The Suns were devoted to Michael Beasley’s success in Phoenix,” said Suns President of Basketball Operations Lon Babby. “However, it is essential that we demand the highest standards of personal and professional conduct as we develop a championship culture. Today’s action reflects our commitment to those standards. The timing and nature of this, and all of our transactions, are based on the judgment of our Basketball leadership as to how best to achieve our singular goal of rebuilding an elite team.”

“We have high standards for all of our players,” said Suns General Manager Ryan McDonough. “We expect them to represent the team and the community in a positive manner both on and off the court.”

Beasley signed a three-year contract with Phoenix as a free agent on July 20, 2012, and in his one season with the Suns, played in 75 games with averages of 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.

I see the Clippers as a better destination for him. They need a 4...

If you're a bad team like the Suns you can afford 0 knuckleheads.
If you're a good team like the Blazers you can afford 1 knucklehead.
If you're a championship caliber team like the Heat you can afford 2 knuckleheads.

But..... Those knuckleheads need to be very, very good, like Dennis Rodman good. Beasley isn't and it's not close.

Beasley doesn't warrant being mentioned in the same breath as those guys. Or even JR or Stephen Jackson-- talent wise.

I think if the L*kers sign him, they'll have a net talent greater than last year with their new additions.

Oh fuck no! Seriously, any talent this guy may have once had is long gone. He's been in the league for five years and has gotten worse every year. His PER and FG% have declined every season. I'm always a little cautious of guys who put up big numbers on shitty teams. No worries there with Beasley. He put up a PER = 10.8, shot 40% from the field and had a NEGATIVE WS/48 on a 25 win Phoenix team. His production is in a free fall. Next up, the dreaded single digit PER.

Seriously, Phoenix last season was the PERFECT situation for him to revitalize his career. He could have played big minutes and put up big numbers on a very talent thin roster. Did he take advantage of this situation? Fuck no, he totally sucked ass.

The only talents he seems to have these days are bickering with his coaches and teammates and smoking an absolute shitload of pot. I don't consider occasionally lighting up in the privacy of one's home a big deal. Stuff like that doesn't hurt anyone or negatively impact someone's job performance, but when you are ALWAYS high, it does start to impact your job performance. And, right now, Beasley's job performance flat out sucks. If I was looking for a former high lottery pick that sucks to fill out my 15th roster spot, I'd take Adam Morrison over Michael Beasley - and I think Morrison is worthless. At least he wouldn't be a distraction or bad influence on his teammates. At this point, Thomas Robinson is SO much better, because at least Robinson does one thing well - rebound. Beasley does everything poorly. He's a horrible defender, weak rebounder and an inefficient ballhog who makes his team worse in every way. I'd take Luke Babbitt back before I'd waste a roster spot on Michael Beasley.

And they'll be even better if they don't sign him.

    1. They don't need him.

    2. They drafted him and I'm sure Riley doesn't want the headache again.
