If I'm not going super high-end on sound (like Bose), Pioneer makes some very high quality products sound-wise. Right now, I have a lot of Pioneer speakers, but I am budgeting to put Bose throughout the theater room.
I don't want to come off as some sort of "know-it-all", but the people who live to achieve the best sound possible pretty much all agree that Bose does not produce a great product, especially at its price point. Most would argue they don't even produce "good" sound. Keep in mind these are people who use tools to measure frequency and decibels to obtain "flat frequency response", etc. So they are fairly fanatical. No audiophile here, but I do believe for the price you'd spend on Bose you can do better. Especially with some of these internet direct companies like Aperion Audio (which is actually based here in town) or Axiom Audio. I've dreamed of one day owning an SVS sub. I guess what I'm trying to say is look around, there are a ton of options out there. One more thing, here's an internet direct speaker article. Good luck and post in the OT Home theater thread. I'd love to see what you have currently even if it's "nothing special". I plan to post an update in there soon myself.
I second what Bob wrote. Bose has historically had a reputation of being a lot of hype and overpriced for speakers that aren't the greatest. Klipsch is my choice. There are other excellent speakers out there for the same price as those Bose.
Yeah, actually, you are correct. I shouldn't have just said Bose. I've looked at a few brands. I have Bose in mind as a friend let me take a couple of Bose speakers from his work for a few days and try them out, and they rock my theater room (and the in-wall speaker project into the theater room only).
Good for him! I always loved the guy. He's a class act and hopefully can muster a few more good years.
No, This place is dead. I've got free time during the day. Let's play golf. I've played with famous people, like SPD. PM me.
The Lakers have resorted to signing the Blazers sloppy seconds. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/229670/Shawne-Williams-Signs-With-Lakers
I'll play with you if you pay and buy me lunch......actually that can't happen til you reach 2,500 posts.
I can afford the golf part but I don't know about your lunch. Also, I'm a slow poster (there are many on S2) so you may have to waive that rule. I'll keep my eye on tee times.
