Celtics' Jared Sullinger arrested

    Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger was arrested on domestic violence-related charges over the weekend, according to the Waltham Police Department.

    Prosecutors said Sullinger was arrested following a domestic situation. It was not immediately clear who his lawyer is.

    The incident occurred on Saturday evening, and Sullinger turned himself in Tuesday morning shortly after 6 a.m. ET, according to Waltham police. Sullinger is charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation.

    According to media reports, Sullinger appeared in Waltham District Court on Tuesday and entered a plea of not guilty. He was released on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court again on Sept. 19.

    I really hope that this is not serious enough that he loses playing time. This is one kid I was really looking forward to seeing play.

    very interesting story this may become. With what has happened recently with boston sports (hernandez, Remy's son), I think that this case and sully's behavior will be under the microscope over the coming weeks.

    You hope this is an isolated incident, and mistake of a 21 year old, and more information does not come out of possible other incidents that had not been reported to police.

    Normally id say that in no way shape of form would they release a promising young player over this, but in light of recent off season happenings in the Boston sports world, it would not shock me if they did.
