Just trying to provide some balance... so many here love to ride corporations' jocks.

Yes, but the govt. dwarfs the biggest companies. The defense budget alone would buy every share of Apple and every share of Google. One years budget buys those two companies. Those two companies took decades to become worth a year's military budget.

The govt. spends another $3T a year on other things.

That isn't counting what the states spend.

And why on earth should I trust a company with that giant firehose of money?

Nobody is saying you should, yet you defend government at every turn. Makes me question your integrity, frankly, unless you really are just trying to be "balanced". I've already said I left corporate America, too, because I didn't like what I saw in the Fortune 100 companies that I worked for, with, and had in my network.

Yet you say you continue to pull a nice check from corporate America. Seems hypocritical to me.

Apple and Google compete with one another. Competition is a good thing - it encourages innovation and excellence when it comes to serving the public.

Government? Doesn't innovate much and I don't know many people who find getting pulled over for a ticket or spending a day at DMV to be an excellent experience.
