I wanted to see the Yankees shut him down for the season but not like this. Hopefully now he'll rest during the off season & start off fresh next year.

I hope he can come back next year strong physically. I fear that he may be brittle, or the ankle was more severe originally than we were told.

I would do an MRI and find out if this thing is a career ending injury or not. I love Jeter to death but that ankle seems like it is held together with duct tape and glue. It may be time to call it a career.

He's heading towards 40 next year with a plate and screws holding the ankle together. He should've stayed out this season.

He's trying to play for a new contract, he doesn't want that big pay cut with the 2014 player option, but its silly, he needs to make 2014 his farewell tour and take a smaller role hoping to stay healthy and go out with a bat in his hand, his body has seen twice the action that most players do because of all the post seasons, so he's done a great job staying on the field over the years, but it's over.

At this point he should be happy to take the pay cut and get to spend his final season or two wight he Yankees. You know he'll eventually have some kind of stake as an owner...
