I think Seattle gets a team long before Portland does. I don't think they should, nor does that mean I think Seattle is gay, but I think they will get a team before Portland

Really? We have an arena that's ready-made for a team. Seattle still only has Key Arena.

I think both are attractive markets. Until Seattle gets an NBA team, I don't think they break ground on the arena. So, I think Portland is a more likely destination for now.

I have no reason to think that, just my thoughts. They wouldn't really have to compete with the NBA dollar in Seattle for a while at least.

But we have Portland politicians, Seattle has Seattle politicians. A key difference.

It sounds more like they're interested in Portland, not Seattle.

I would love to get a team here. I would follow the NHL if we had a team. I haven't really had much interest before, but I think an actual team would inspire me to get involved in hockey.

I would love a team too, i have never had much interest, but that's mainly because the closest teams were in Canada and San Jose. It would be much more interesting than soccer, and i could see myself becoming a fan.

Hockey is so much more fun to watch than Basketball.

I think soccer and hockey have their pros and cons. I enjoy watching the World Cup, but I haven't gotten as invested in the Timbers. I think hockey would be easier to follow with the hits and the violence.

I love basketball.... but the NBA is a joke these days. If we got a hockey team, or a football team, the Blazers might end up taking a backseat.

The NFL is pretty much impossible, especially as long as LA doesn't have a team, so this is probably our only realistic chance at getting a second real pro sports team.

Exactly. Right now the Ducks are the closest thing to pro football for me. I don't anticipate a pro team in my lifetime, but who knows.

Hockey is something that should have happened a long time ago. There's no reasonable explanation for the NHL not being in Portland. We have the facility, we have a decent hockey following with the Winterhawks, and it's the perfect lousy weather sport to watch alongside basketball.

    This needs to happen.

Of course, I'm sure an expansion team would suck for years, unless Paul spends money hand over fist.

The nhl expanding to the south over the northwest never made any sense to me, and with all of those teams doing really badly, it still doesn't make sense why we don't have teams here while they do. Have you ever seen a southerner interested in hockey?

Well, supposedly they don't care about that (if you believe the author of the article.) He said that they have plans for Key Arena, but he also said that one source told him that the NHL doesn't have any plans for Seattle outside of the negotiations that fell through for the Coyotes.

Nice! Would love a team. NHL is one of the best products when it comes to the play and talent around the league, favorite sport next to football and MMA.
