The only thing I would add to that article which I agree with, is hopefully including the sale of the team to someone who gives a damn...

Usually players free agent to the Yankees for a good salary and a chance to play on a winner. Now we have Yankee Players who will free agent finding no one wants them. People accountable for this teams state need to be dealt with but if not accomplished we will see the same old water cascading over the falls. And don't mention reduced payroll, for Christs sakes if other teams can put out winner with 60 to 100 mil payrolls the Yankees can as well. Every time I see John Hart make his presentations on MLB I wonder why the Yankees don't have a man like him as GM instead of the resident cockroach.

At this point there is NO realistic way the yankees can field a competive team at a reduced rate for the simple fact that they have basically no young cost controlled players and virtually no help coming from the farm. Half the team is a black hole next year. In order to "rebuild" this team it has to be done almost fully through high priced free agents over 30...starting with Cano. I only hope someone else besides Cashman is doing the job, but i doubt it. How he still has a job, let alone as the highest paid GM in the universe is simply not justified by any means at this point. The man NEEDS to go.

I put together a plan a while back and it entailed sighing basically every impact free agent to fill the holes making up half the roster. There is no other way right now, which means all past mistakes will once again be repeated or the yankees will suck for 5 years+ until they fix the farm. Playing off Hammer's comment, i hope the potential new owners are fine with 1/2 empty stadiums and declining ratings.

Start with Cano, well I'd say do not repeat the mistakes that they made with Tex, BUFF, and the resident pharmaceutical agent. If the Yankees could get Cano for four to five then OK. Beane over in Oakland pulls players of the scrap heap and has a winner, Cashmans scraps remain in the dumpster. Back when Stick Michael was in charge this team had a nice farm, made intelligent trades and free agent signings.

If we like it or not, Cano will get 8 years 160-200 million. Just accept this fact. I agree with all, but we have no choice, but with that said, he is the last to benefit from this type of deal unless we are signing a Mike Trout or Giancarlo Stanton for example. Money is are only salvation to buy time for the 2015 help from the minors if it comes.

You think the guy is lazy now? give him the 8-9 year security & he'll be hiring someone to pinch run for him to first base.

After tonight, I know there is about a 10% chance, but I would love for someone to out bid us on Cano. Wake up Detroit, hey you in Texas, how about a sign and trade, oh wait that happens in the NBA. Mets, you need a second basemen, pony up. You can time him with a calendar from home to first. If Hal had balls, he say fans, stay with us, we have just enjoyed a 20 year run of unparallelled excellence. We need to start over. Sacrifice the 2014 season, the true fans will stay behind you, we know its broken beyond repair, but you don't. Wake up

And there's the difference Major, George would & has apologized to the fans for the teams poor play. Hank & Hal just plain out don't give a shit. About the fans or the team.

The way things are in Detroit they may be lucky if they have a population next year.
