What would people like to see on a Blazer pre-game show that isn't already being done? I just got some really nice broadcast production equipment and I'm thinking about doing a live show (streaming) before the games. It will be at a restaurant/bar hopefully close to the RG.
A detailed analysis of the other team . . . you could try a scouting type report on the other team. (What's going on with the team, who's the up and comer and who to watch for, what the local buzz, what are the weaknesses, maybe some things to look for in the game.) Blazer stats relative to the team they are playing, individual player stats when playing against certain players . . . fantasy football type of analysis.
Actually, to be honest, I think that would be cool. I'd rather watch a well produced Blazer fan made pre-game show and post-game show than the shill-fests that are on Blazer broadcasts.
Along those lines, without being a negative nancy, an honest report on the Blazer players/staff without all the softball stuff we get now.
Yes. I'd like to see more X's and O's. It seems like broadcasts try to dumb everything down to where 95% of the audience already knows it. Maybe they are just being lazy and rolling onto the set 5 mins before cameras start. If we are watching a regular season pregame show we are going to be an informed basketball fan. Instead of the obvious teach us something that the viewer doesn't know. Chris Colinsworth on SNF does a great job.
Along those lines though, if there could be some like bullet point intro like "we're going to talk about: ISO screens, weak side help, back cuts" (IE some headers for me to research if I don't know the topic at hand)
I always thought having an informational aspect to the game itself would be nice. Many of us in here are uber-nerds about the stuff, but does the average fan know the significance when Rice would say "The Blazers will now switch on all cross-picks"? Or would a five-minute primer on why switching to zone from time to time works be out of place? I mean, look at how Zach Lowe incorporates that kind of stuff into his analyses. You could call it "Blazer U" or something. And yes, a Talkin' Ball panel of mostly fans would be great.
Those are some really good ideas, it will definitely be more open and honest then other broadcasts. Stats and other info is great but pulling it will be hard/time consuming. If someone wants to help gather info I would be willing to have them on the show. I just want something different then whats already out there. HCP where can I get highlights of the games?
Ya, that won't be happening. Sorry brother, league don't like me "barrowing" footage. Sent from HCPs Baller-Ass iPhone 5...FAMS!
